본 연구는 사회불안을 가진 중학생을 대상으로 인지행동 치료프로그램의 효능성을 검증하였다. 이 프로그램은 청소년기 전기에 해당하는 중학생들의 인지발달 특성에 맞추어 인지재구조화, 사회기술훈련을 치료적 요소로 구성하였다. 인지 재구조화는 역기능적인 핵심신념을 찾기보다 부정적인 자동적 사고를 찾아서 합리적인 대안으로 바꾸는 연습까지 진행하였다. 사회기술훈련요소는 ‘칭찬하기’와 ‘나-전달법’ 기술의 훈련으로 자기 자신과 다른 사람에 대한 긍정적인 감정을 기르고 자신의 감정과 생각 그리고 바라는 것을 정확하게 전달하는 방법을 익히는 것이다. 한국판 아동 청소년용 사회불안 척도와 교사 관찰 보고에 의해 중학교 1,2 학년 학생(n=18)들을 각각 인지행동치료집단(n=9)과 대기목록통제집단(n=9)에 무선으로 배정하였다. 결과는 인지행동치료집단이 전체적인 사회불안이 감소하여 본 치료프로그램이 사회불안을 감소시키는데 효과가 있음을 입증하였다: 하위척도에서는, ‘수행불안’, ‘비주장성’ 및 ‘부정적인 평가에 대한 두려움’에서 인지행동치료집단이 대기목록통제집단보다 더 유의한 감소를 보였지만, ‘회피적 사고 및 행동’, ‘낯선 것에 대한 두려움’에서는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점 그리고 앞으로의 연구 방향이 논의되었다. The purpose of this study investigates the effects of cognitive-behavioral therapy on Middle school students with social anxiety. Cognitive reconstruction and Social skill training are included in this program according to early adolescents" cognitive development. Cognitive reconstruction is conducted to train changing negative automatic thinking to rational alternative thinking. Social skill components are "praising", "I-message" to deliever one"s feeling and thought adequately. Eighteen middle school students with social anxiety were selected through Social anxiety scale for childhood and adolescents-Korean and Teacher observation report, and randomly assigned cognitive-behavioral group (n=9) and waiting-list control group (n=9). Assumption is more reduction of social anxiety by cognitive behavioral therapy compared to waiting list control group. Social anxiety is reduced by cognitive behavioral therapy. Finally, The implications and limitations of this study and suggestions for future study were also discussed.
