In order to solve the inconvenience of charging an electric vehicle, technologies have been proposed to provide convenience to a user by allowing a user to reserve a charger at the most appropriate time and location in advance prior to a direct visit to an electric vehicle charging station. This paper automatically transmits and receives a charging reservation to a charger near the driving route in connection with the user’s smartphone, and performs authentication by simply processing the authentication with the user’s smartphone application or tagging, and schedules after the automatic reservation is received. We propose a charging reservation control system and method for an electric vehicle in which a reservation is automatically canceled when charging is not made after a period of time to facilitate charging reservation.
