이 연구는 토익 성적 향상 및 하락 그룹 간의 시험 전략 사용의 차이를 연구하는데 목적이 있다. 연구를 위해 2017년 1학기 대학 교양 필수 영어 수강생 246명을 대상으로 학기 초와 학기 말에 토익 시험을 실시하여 향상도를 측정하였고 한 학기 16주토익 수업시간에 배운 영어 시험 전략에 관한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문 조사 문항은 읽기 전략, 듣기 전략, 전략학습에 대한 인식으로 구성하였으며 결과 분석은 SPSS 22 통계프로그램으로 시행하였다. 연구 결과 듣기 시험 전략에서는 점수 상승 그룹과 하락 그룹간에 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 읽기 시험 전략에서는 Part 5와 6에서 빈칸 앞뒤 지문을 근거로 답을 유추하는 전략 사용에 있어 읽기 성적 하락그룹에서 사용빈도가 더 높았다. 시험 전략 사용에 대한 인식은 듣기 성적 상승 그룹이 하락 그룹보다 전략 사용을 더욱 긍정적으로 인식하였다. 위 연구 결과는 기존의 전략 연구 결과들과 맥락을 같이 한다고 볼 수 있는데 이를 토대로 2016년 개정된 토익을 대비해서는 실생활의 맥락과 상황에 대비한 지문을 활용한 시험 전략의 연습을 더욱 강조할 필요가 있음을 예측해 볼 수 있었다. The purpose of the study is to investigate the differences in using test-taking strategies among students with different TOEIC score results. 246 college students participated in the study. They took the newly revised TOEIC at the beginning and the end of the semester, and their improvement degrees were measured. A survey about test-taking strategies was also implemented at the end of the semester. As a result, there was no statistical difference in listening test-taking strategies between the two groups(improved score group/decreased score group) while there were statistically significant differences in reading test-taking strategies. About the usefulness of the test-taking strategies, the participants with improved scores in the listening test showed more positive attitudes toward using test-taking strategies. Based on the results of the study, reading strategies for identifying the context of the reading passage should be reinforced for the revised TOEIC. Next, more authentic and practical material should be provided for EFL students. Recommendations for future research include learners’ learning processes of test-taking strategies and presenting practical instruction models for TOEIC preparation in EFL context.

이 연구는 2019년 2학기 영상 영어 수업을 통해 영화를 활용한 수업의 효과적 운용방안을 위해 학습자의 인식에 대해 고찰하였다. 4차 산업시대의 인재 육성을 목표로 하는 현시대 교양 교육의 흐름에 따라 미래지향적인 융복합 수업으로서의 새로운 수업 설계를 할 필요가 있으며 영화를 활용한 영어 수업의 효과성에 학습자들의 수업에 대한 인식에 관한 연구는 충분히 이루어지지 않고 있다. 이에 컨텐츠 중심, 융복합 교양수업, 언어 수업의 세 가지 측면을 기저로 수업 설계를 하고 이에 관한 학습자들의 인식을 조사하였다. 연구 결과 학습자들은 컨텐츠와 언어 능력 특히 리스닝에 대한 긍정적인 인식을 보였으나 융복합 교양 수업에 대한 인식은 좀 더 개선되어야 함을 알 수 있었다. 이에 장르중심이 아닌 주제별 영화 선택을 통한 토론활동 강화를 제안 점으로 제시하였다. This study examined learners’ perception about effectiveness of learning English through movies in 2019, fall. It is necessary to reset the goal of general English program along with the trend of 4th industrial revolution era. However, there haven’t been enough studies about learners’ perception about the effectiveness of learning English through movies. The class was carefully planned based on three major features; contents-based, convergence-oriented and language-specific class. Students responded positively in the aspects of contents-based and language-specific class. Further improvement should be followed in the area of convergence-oriented class by theme-based movie selection and more structured discussion activities.
