광양만 여수만 순천만 보성만 거문도에서 어획한 수산물과 수질 및 sediment의 중금속 함유 실태를 조사하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 지역별로는 광양만의 수산물에서 Cu를 최고 1.208ppm 그리고 sediment에서 Cu와 Pb를 각각 최고 2.13, 4.34ppm을 검출 하였다. 여수만의 수산물과 sediment에서 Hg을 각각 최고 0.102, 0.032ppm을 검출 하였다. 순천만의 수산물과 해수에서 Pb를 각각 최고 0.039ppm, 0.013㎍/L 검출하였다. 보성만의 수산물과 해수 및 sediment에서 Cd를 각각 최고 0.277ppm, 0.09㎍/L, 0.08ppm 검출 하였다. 거문도는 측정된 중금속 함량 수준이 제일 낮아 거의 청정해역이었다. 수산물 종류 별로는 민꽃게에서 Hg, Cu, Zn, Mn을 각각 최고 0.092, 1.905, 6.64, 46.34ppm을 검출하고 소라에서 Pb, Cd를 각각 최고 0.045, 0.38ppm을 검출하였다. 기타 꽃새우, 바지락, 청각, 톳은 중금속 함량수준이 낮았다. 조사한 5개지역의 수산물, 해수 및 sediment의 중금속 함량은 국내외의 중금속 허용 기준치를 벗어나지 않으므로 오염에 대한 우려는 없었다. In this survey the results showing the highest values among the analyzed data of all specimens are summarized as follow. At Kwangyang bay Cu in the fishery was detected up to 1.208ppm and the level of Cu and Pb in sediment of this area were 2.13 and 4.34ppm, respectively. The contents of Hg in fishery and sediment of Yeosu bay were 0.102 and 0.032ppm. The levels of Pb in fishery and seawater of Sunchon bay were 0.039ppm and O.013㎍/L, respectively. At Posung bay the contents of Cd were 0.277ppm, 0.09㎍/L and 0.08ppm in the specimens of fishery, seawater and sediment, respectively. The analyzed data of all specimens at Keamundo were very low level or undetectable. Of the 6 fishery samples, Charybdis japonica showed the upper level of Hg, Cu, Zn, Mn as 0.092, 1.905, 6.64, and 46.34ppm, respectively. The contents of Pb and Cd in Batillus cornatus were 0.045 and 0.38ppm respectively and other fishery had low level of heavy metal. In this study the contents of heavy metals analyzed in all specimens showed nearly natural occurrence level which is under the legal limits.

재래식 발효 메주의 수성 현탁질 Ex시료에 대한 실험 동물을 사용한 안전성 검사 결과, mouse의 경구 투여 급성독은 시료 10g/㎏체중까지는 48시간 내에 LD_(50)을 나타내지 않았다. Rat 3개군에 경구적으로 시료를 각각 0.308g/㎏, 3.08g/㎏, 9.24g/㎏를 투여한 4주간 평균 체중 증가율은 대조군의 19.08%에 비해 3.08g/㎏군이 다소 높은 21.95%이나 기타 군은 19.7~19.1%로 대조군과 비슷하여 거의 영향이 없었다. 실험 rat에 의한 시료 섭취 상태, 해부 소견에서도 별다른 이상이 없었다.<br/> 실험 rat의 혈청의 생화학적 검사에서 전 실험기간 0.308g/㎏, 3.08g/㎏군은 GPT, GOT, alkaline phosphatase, BUN에서 거의 모두 대조군과 비슷하고 9.24g/㎏군은 모든 항목에서 대조군보다 약간 증가했다. 특히 4주째 대조군의 GPT 29u, GPT 104u, cholesterol 82.5㎎/dl, alkaline phosphatase 25.7u, BUN 4.5㎎/dl에 비하여 9.24g/㎏군은 각각 47.3u, 122u, 100㎎/dl 37.5u, 32㎎/dl값을 보이고 이중 cholesterol, alkaline phosphatase, BUN은 유의적인 증가를 보였다. 이는 시료 중 mycotoxin류에 의한 중독보다는 시료의 과다한 투여에 의한 섭취 calory 증가에 의한 체내 cholesterol 합성증가와 단백질 질소의 과부하에 의한 신장배설 기능에 부담을 준 것으로 사료 된다. 장기조직 검사결과 9.24g/㎏군에서 4주째 채취한 1필의 간장에서 초기 지방간 증세가 관찰되었고 동군의 1필 소장점막이 가볍게 염증상을 보였으나 대부분 간장 소장 표본 조직 검사에서 거의 중독성 병변을 나타내지 않았다. 이상의 실험결과 재래식 메주에는 실험 동물에 급성내지 아급성 중독을 일으키는 어떤 종류의 toxicant는 포함되지 않은 것으로 나타났다. For this experiment first the fermented Soybean Meju was prepared by domestic ordinary method of Korean, and concentrated Meju suspensoidal extract was made for toxicological test sample on mice and rat. Even the oral dose of 10q extract per ㎏ of mice had not any acute toxicity. So the median lethal dose(LD_(50)) is lilely to be much greater or not to be. In comparison of the average weight gain rate for 4 weeks the control and test groups of 0.308g Ex/rat ㎏ and 9.24g Ex/rat ㎏ daily were the much the same as about 19%, but 3.08g Ex/rat ㎏ group was exceptionally 2.7% higer than control. For this period all test groups did not show any abnormality in appearance and anatomic findings. In serum GPT, GOT, alkaline phosphatase, and blood urea nitrogen value there were no difference significantly between control and the test groups of 0.308g /rat ㎏ and 3.08g /rat ㎏, but 9.24 g /rat ㎏ group was some what higher than control. Especially in cholesterol, alkaline phosphatase, and blood urea nitrogen value, 9.24g /rat ㎏ group for 28days had 100㎎/dl, 37.5u, 32㎎/dl respectively which were increased significantly. The pathological findings of all test groups, especially 9.24g /㎏ group, did not showed any characterized sign of acute or subacute liver damage or intestine lesion. So it is supposed that there is not any tocixants originated from some molds in fermented Korean domestic Meju which is prepared traditionally in winter.

Effect of Aralia elata extract on experimentally alloxan-induced diabetes in rabbits and toxicity of mouse were studied; LD_(50) of Aralia elata extract (A. E. E.) was 5.5g/㎏ intraperitoneally in mice. A. E. E. 800㎎/㎏ exhibited more excellent hypoglycemic effect after 6 days and 14 days in 200㎎/㎏, compared to the control group.<br/> Blood urea nitrogen level was significantly decreased after 6 days in 800㎎/㎏, and blood levels of total cholesterol and CPT activity were showed more significant decreasing effect in 800㎎/㎏ than 200㎎/㎏.
