마찰 저감을 통한 D24 Stage 5 엔진 연비 개선

Various studies have been made to improve the fuel efficiency and the exhaust emission regulations which are rapidly strengthened in the fields where the vehicle and the engine manufacturer are most interested. One of these methods is to measure the mechanical friction of the current level by the strip down method through the uncompressed motoring test and improve the fuel efficiency by improving the friction of the high friction engine parts. In this study, the D24 Stage5 engine, which is one of the DI engines, is to diagnose the friction of the Piston Ass’y, Crankshaft Ass’y, Valvetrain that have a great influence on the mechanical friction and develop and apply the improvement plan to achieve the fuel efficiency improvement target. In addition, FA-4 engine oil with the same viscosity and VDOP(Variable Displacement Oil Pump) were applied to improve friction and fuel economy.
