Many retired older adults do want to remain connected to the society and are looking for a replacement for their workplace. It also examined the impact of third places on older adults’ perceived social connectedness concerning green spaces and walkable areas that helps in stress or depression reduction based on stress reduction theory. In this study, places that seniors go for socializing regularly outside their homes were defined as third places. Data collection was made by visiting a senior housing in Seoul and comparing it with international ones of which information was available via online. Based on literature review and case studies, it is evident that older people aging in low walkable environments along with less common third places become more immobile and felt lonely while older people aging in high walkable environments with common third places retain more healthy mobility patterns.
