Recently, Dual Clutch Transmission(DCT) with high efficient of the manual transmission and convenience of the automatic transmission has been researched and developed. DCT is divided into dry and wet depending on whether the oil is used or not. Wet DCT have to use hydraulic pressure to deliver the clutch’s large torque without loss. Therefore, It is necessary to develop a solenoid-type control valve capavle of high pressure control at level of 60bar. In this study, the effect of spool and flange geometry affecting leakage has been investigated using computational fluid analysis. Also, prototypes were fabricated to evaluate leakage according to clearance.

Recently, researches are actively carried out to replace the ATF warmer and cooler functions with a single heat exchanger in order to improve fuel efficiency. The ATF oil, which has high viscosity at low temperature when starting up, is rapidly warmed up through engine coolant to reduce friction loss. The effect of design variables on the performance of the heat exchanger was investigated through CFD to optimize design of heat exchanger to cool high temperature ATF oil through low temperature engine coolant. Based on the analyzed result, the prototype was fabricated. The performance of the prototype was examined through experiments and compared with the analyzed results.

Recently, suspension is being actively developed to improve performance and safety of the vehicle. The function of suspension is to damp the vibration transmitted from the road surface to vehicle body. In this study, 1-D code program using mathematical model was developed for investigating damping characteristic according to design parameters. As design variables, the disc thickness and the number of orifice holes were selected, and the effect of each parameters on the damping force was examined by 1-D code.

The efficiency of water pump for automobile is being greatly increased due to many research activity. Especially, research on the inlet/outlet angle, height of the impeller, the volute shape, and the discharge port diameter, are actively pursued. In the study, the performance for changed inlet/outlet angle of impeller was analyzed. Also, the performance for changed height of impeller was analyzed. The performance analysis was performed according to the shape of the volute. The discharge port was analyzed by changing the discharge port diameter. As a result, a model with changed impeller outlet height, changed impeller inlet angle, changed volute shape, and changed discharge port diameter was constructed and analyzed.
