성취수준별 분수문장제 문제의 오류 유형 분석: 초등학교 5학년 학생을 중심으로

본 연구는 초등학교 5학년 학생들의 분수문장제 문제해결능력을 측정하여 그들이 보이는 분수문장제 오류 유형을 분석하고, 성취집단별로 어떠한 오류 유형을 많이 보이는 지와, 오류 유형간의 상관관계를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 한 광역시의 3개 초등학교 5학년 학생 228명을 대상으로 분수의 사칙연산이 활용되는 10개의 문장제 문항을 풀도록 하고 그 과정에서 나타나는 오류를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 성취집단 간 유의미한 차이를 보인 오류 유형은 ‘문제에서 제시된 상황 이해 부족’, ‘연산전략 선택의 어려움’, ‘통분오류’, ‘부주의’, ‘풀지 않음’ 이었다. 또한 대부분의 오류 유형이 저성취 집단에서 높은 빈도로 나타났으며, 오류간의 상관관계는 성취집단별로 다르게 나타났다. 끝으로, 이러한 결과를 토대로 본 연구의 시사점과 제한점을 논의하였다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the error types that were presented by 5th graders during the process of solving word problems on fractions. Error patterns, frequencies, and the correlations between the error types were analyzed qualitatively. A total of 228 5th grade students were selected as participants to solve ten mathematic word problems. As a result of analyzing participant’s error patterns, a significant difference was found between the groups of low-, average-, high-achievers in the following errors: lack of understanding the question, difficulty of selecting proper procedures, errors in the process of reduction to a common denominator, inattention, and incompletion. These errors were most frequently observed in a low-achievement group. In addition, the correlations between error types were significantly different among three groups. Finally, the limitations and implications of this study were discussed.
