This study aimed to select the priority streams requiring improvement in water quality among the 17 streams flowing into the Masan Bay. Several methods were employed to select the priority streams, including calculation of discharge load and discharge load per unit area, analyses of the impervious rate and road ratio using land cover characteristics, grouping of branch streams, and the calculation of load duration curve excess rate. Watershed data, including flow and water quality data, were collected and monitoring was conducted in the Masan Bay watershed from 2005 to 2021 at the endpoints of the streams. 1) Five and six streams were identified as the subjects of priority management, according to the highest load rates by subwatershed and per unit area, respectively. 2) Two streams appeared to be the subjects of priority management, according to land cover characteristics that indicated an impervious ratio >50 % and a road ratio >10 %. 3) Stream grouping was carried out to identify group A water quality streams with high load and flow rates; six and eight streams were found to be the subjects of priority management, respectively. 4) As a result of selecting streams with an average excess flow >50 % using a flow duration curve, six streams were found to be the subjects of priority management. 5) The analysis of the five indicators revealed that Shinicheon and Samhocheon streams require priority management to improve water quality in the Masan Bay area, particularly management of point-source pollution. Continuous management is also required for Cheoksan, Naedong, and Changwon streams, which were identified as the subjects of priority management based on four indicators.
유량-부하량 상관식을 이용한 마산만 유입하천의 유기물 부하량 평가

본 연구에서는 유량-부하량 상관식을 이용하여 마산만 유입하천에 함유된 유기물 부하량을 평가하고자 하였다. 2007년부터 2014년까지 측정된 마산만 유입하천의 유량 및 수질자료를 이용하여 유량 및 부하량 관계식을 도출하였다. 도출된 유량-부하량 상관식을 이용하여 각 하천의 오염원을 분류 하는데 적용하였으며 하천의 목표수질에 따라 다른 하천 오염원 관리가 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 마산만 연안오염총량제 실시 이후 특히 점오염원의 감소됨을 알 수 있었다. 유량-부하량 상관식을 이용한 하천의 오염원 배출 평가 방법이 연안오염총량제에 적용될 가능성 이 높음을 있음을 알 수 있었다. This study evaluated the organic pollutant loading of Masan Bay Streams using streamflow-load rating curve. The monitored the water qualities and flow of 16 streams into Masan bay during 2005∼2014 were used. The streamflow-load rating curves were used for classification of the pollutant source managements of the streams. Depended on the target water quality standard, different the pollutant source management of the streams were required. This study shown that the point sources of pollutant load of the streams decreased after the implementation of Total Maximum Daily Load(TMDL) in Masan bay. This research shown the evaluation method using streamflow-load rating curve could be applied in the implementation and assessment of current TMDL.

마산만으로 유입되는 16개 하천의 수질 및 유량을 2005년부터 2013년까지의 모니터링 하고 수질의 분포특성을 파악하였다. 마산만으로 유입되는 8개 하천의 수질은 대수정규분포를 나타내었다. 하천의 수질분포특성을 이용하여 하천의 목표수질을 결정하는데 유용하게 사용할 수 있다. 수질의 확률 분포를 이용하여 결정된 목표수질은 마산만 유역에서 시행되고 있는 연안오염총량관리제를 개선하는데 기여 할 수 있을 것이다. 신뢰성 분석 방법을 사용하여 목표수질을 만족하기 위한 신뢰도 계수를 도출하였다. 도출된 신뢰도 계수를 사용하여 목표관리수질농도를 계산하여 제안하였다. 본 연구에서는 마산만 유입하천의 목표수질의 설정 및 평가를 위하여 측정된 수질자료의 분포에 대한 해석과 그 중요성을 토의하였다. This study monitored the water qualities of 16 streams, which flow to the Masan bay, Korea during 2005-2013. The characteristics and probability distribution of the water qualities were analyzed. The water quality, BOD, of 8 streams were found to have a log-normal probability distribution. The characteristics of probability distribution of stream water qualities could be used for determining the target concentration of stream water qualities. Determination and setting of the target concentration of stream water qualities using the probability distribution could improve the total pollution load management system (TPLMS) currently being regulated in the Masan Bay watershed. Reliability analysis method was applied to find out the coefficients of reliability (COR), in terms of the compliance of the target water qualities. The target management concentrations to meet the target stream water qualities were calculated from the COR obtained. This study discusses the importance of interpreting monitoring results of water qualities distribution for setting up the target water quality of the streams and compliance with legislation.
