Blood components are made of blood extracts by using centrifugal separator, which are such 8 components as whole blood, packed red cells, leukocytes poor red cells, washed red cells, leukocytes concentrates, platelets concentrates, fresh frozen plasma and cryoprecipitates. The analytic values and standard values of above 8 components supplied by Seo-Bu Blood Center, Korea National Red Cross are as follows; 1. Whole blood : 320 ml standard unit has content volume 321±8 ml, hemoglobin 12.7±L7g/dl, hematocrit 38.0±4.0% and concentration of hydrogen ion 7.16~6.73. The other 400 ml standard unit has content volume 404±19 ml, hemoglobin 14.8±2.0g/dl, hematocrit 40.8±4.6% and concentration of hydrogen ion 7.13~6.74. Therefore we established the standard values of whole blood with content volume 320±25 ml, hematocrit 36~44% for 320 ml standard unit and content volume 400±30 ml, hematocrit 36~44% for 400 ml standard unit. 2. Packed red cells : 320 ml standard unit has content volume 188±14 ml and hematocrit 72±2.5%. The other 400 ml standard unit has content volume 246±19 ml and hematocrit 72±3.0%. Therefore we established the standard values of packed red cells with content volume 190±15 mi, hematocrit 72±5% for 320 ml standard unit and content volume 250±20 ml, hematocrit 72±5% for 400 ml standard unit. 3. Leukocytes poor red cells : 400 ml standard unit has content volume 228±13 ml, hematocrit 71±2.4% and WBC extraction ratio is 87±5%. Established standard values of leukocytes poor red cells are content volume 225±20 ml, hematocrit 70±5%, leukocytes extraction ratio is 80% for 400 ml standard unit. 4. Washed red cells : 400 ml standard unit has content volume 228±12 ml, hematocrit 70±3.6% and protein component 0.2±0.lgjunit. Established standard values of washed red cells are content volume 225±20ml, hematocrit 70±5(≤80)%, and protein component 0.5g/unit for 400 ml standard unit. 5. Leukocytes concentrates : 400 ml standard unit has content volume 48±4 ml, WBC count 2.0±0.5×10(9)/unit and WBC recovery ratio 78±6%. Established standard values of leukocytes concentrates are content volume 50±5 ml, WBC count above 0.9×l0(9)/unit and WBC recovery ratio 80~60%. 6. Platelets concentrates : 320 ml standard unit has content volume 37±2 ml, platelet count 4.5±0.7×10(10)/unit and concentration of hydrogen ion 7.06±0.l9. The other 400 ml standard unit has content volume 48±3 ml, platelet count 6.3±0.9×10(10)/unit and concentration of hydrogen ion 7.09±0.17. Therefore we established the standard values of platelets concentrates with content volume 35±3 ml, platelet count 4.0×10(10)/unit and concentration of hydrogen ion 7.0±0.5(≥6.0) for 320 ml standard unit and content volume 45±4 ml, platelet count 5.0×10(10)/unit and concentration of hydrogen ion 7.0±0.5(≥6.0) for 400 ml standard unit. 7. Fresh frozen plasma : 320 ml standard unit has content volume 132±10 ml and 400 ml standard unit has content volume 172±15 ml and factor VIIIc is contained 112±33 IU/unit. Therefore established that fresh frozen plasma contain content volume ≥ 120 ml for 320 ml standard unit, ≥ 160 ml for 400 ml standard unit and factor VIIIc ≥80 IU/unit. 8. Cryoprecipitates : 320 ml standard unit has content volume 40±3 ml and factor VIIIc is contained 81±9IU/unit. Established standard value are content volume 40±4 ml and factor VIIIc ≥ 60 IU/unit.
