Presented in this paper is an automated scanning procedure of a dental impression that utilizes an 3D scanner system. The proposed procedure identifies missing areas from the initial scanning data from default orientations and attempts to locate additional scanning orientations to fill the missing areas. The core part of the proposed procedure is an algorithm that computes additional scanning orientations using the information of the missing areas. The algorithm was designed carefully by considering three major technological requirements of the problem: dual visibility, reliability, and efficiency. To satisfy the dual visibility requirement, the proposed algorithm uses the concept of a visibility map as well as the diameter of a spherical polygon.

In this paper, we implement a high-performance haptic rendering algorithm to derive a haptic device by means of a fast collision detection for high-resolution 3D models and a kinematic simulation for a multilinked body in order to represent the interaction of virtual objects that enhances the sense of immersion. We implement a fast serial collision detection algorithm that can handles meshes of more than 10,000 concave triangles. For this purpose, we develop a data conversion technique, which is free of commercial license, that can import a conventional modeling/CAD software models. We evaluate the quantitative performance analysis for various collision detection algorithms that are based on bounding volume hierarchy and space partitioning techniques. We design a data structure that contains geometry, rendering properties, and physical properties for haptic rendering purposes.
DAF 공정에서 공기포화장치와 노즐 특성 별 미세기포 발생에 미치는 영향

DAF (Dissolved air flotation) 공정에서 공기포화장치(Saturator)와 미세기포 발생노즐은 미세기포 형성에 중요한 영향을 미치는 장치이다. 미세기포 발생 효율을 증가시키기 위해서는 공기포화장치 용기 안에서 기-액 접촉 효율을 증가시키고, 미세기포 발생노즐까지 이송 배관 내 압력을 일정하게 유지해 주어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 공기포화장치 내 순환수 유입 분사노 즐과 포화수 이송 배관, 미세기포 발생노즐에 의한 미세기포 발생에 미치는 영향을 공기체적법과 기포 크기, 기포의 잔류시간 측정을 통해 비교해 보았다. 순환수 유입 분사노즐을 설치하고, 포화수의 이송 배관 내 압력손실이 발생하지 않는 구조, 미세 기포 발생노즐의 통과유속을 증가시킬 경우 미세기포 발생 성능이 증가하였다. The saturator and injection nozzle are important facilities on the dissolved air flotation process. To increase the formation of micro bubble, it is required to improve the air dissolving performance in the saturator and keep the pressure uniform from the saturator to the nozzle. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of the saturator and the hydraulic effect of the nozzle and the pipe structure. The air volume concentration, bubble size and bubble residual time were measured in the test. The saturator, which had mounted with the spray nozzle, showed a good performance for bubble formation. Also, the characteristics of micro bubble formation were influenced by pressure uniformity and flow velocity through the orifice in the nozzle.
스마트센서시스템의 기능안전을 위한 Lora 통신 필드 적합성 테스트 연구

Purpose: Three types of LPWA LoRa module were investigated as candidate smart sensor systems in a smart factory. A long-distance communication success test was conducted to determine which module type best satisfied functional safety requirements. Methods: The three types of LoRa communication module considered in this paper were 1. sLory, 2. RYLR890 using UART interface and 3. P2P UART communication module RAK811. A communication success field demonstration test was performed at 3.24 km in the city center and in a flat area (Ansan-si). Results: The RYLR890 module type achieved communication success up to 3 km. However, the communication success rate from departure to arrival was unstable. The RAK811 achieved communication up to 2 km and the field test demonstrated that the transmission/reception performance was stable from departure to arrival. Conclusion: Three types of LoRa module were selected for LPWA and the worlds first field verification test was conducted. It was verified that the RAK811 model’s field communication success rate meets functional safety requirements. However, it is still necessary to ensure the functional safety of sensor-node, communication system and PHM technology by examining structural aspects such as longitudinal axis, lateral side and height.
