To join structures together, various methods and processes are available including welding, riveting, bonding with industrial adhesives and fastening by bolts. Analyses of the common areas formed by joining between the structures are significant in that their results can provide critical information for understanding the dynamic behavior of the whole structure. The structural factors affecting the dynamic behavior of the joined structures are usually believed to be materials composing the bolts, bolt sizes and the number of bolts as well as the strength of applied torque and the extent of overlap between the structures joined together. This paper analyzes the impacts of the structural factors such as the bolt sizes, the extent of overlap and the materials composing the structures on the dynamic behavior of the joined structures.

There are various methods to join mechanical structures together. They typically include welding, mechanical joints by bolts and other processes depending on specific needs. Analyses of joints in the mechanical structures are essential in understanding the dynamic characteristics of the structures. In this research an impulse technique<br/> is applies to investigate the dynamic behavior of joints produced by bolts. The length of overlap in the joints was varied as the number of the bolts in the joints was changed. Also, the torque applied to the bolts were adjusted. Resonance frequencies were determined for the joints to evaluate the relationship between the increase in the applied torque and the increase in the number of bolts used in the joints. The results have demonstrated that the resonance frequencies of the joints increase with the increasing torque.

Light guide plate is one of most important components which are composed of back light unit, affecting the quality and performance of LCD. Average brightness and uniformity are especially key factors for designing the light guide unit. These qualities are affected and controlled by the pattern being attached to the back of light guide unit. In order to obtain high brightness and uniformity the optimized pattern design is adopted for LGP. In this study, optimized molding condition for LGP with 0.4 ㎜ thickness was obtained by using the Moldflow simulation software and the optimized pattern for better brightness uniformity was designed for the thickness of the 0.4 ㎜ by trial and error method. The brightness was measured for the different LGP thicknesses and the residual stress analysis was performed for 0.4 ㎜ thickness by the photoelasticity and the results are compared with 0.5 ㎜, 0.6 ㎜ thickness.

For a number of years it has been known that flexural vibrations in a plate can be damped by the application of a layer of damping (viscoelastic) material that is in turn constrained by a backing layer or foil. A common example is the damping tape currently used in aircraft and electronic equipment.<br/> This paper present a quantitative analysis of the resultant damping of the sandwiched beam. As in the work of H. 이 연구는 센서와 자율주행 자동차의 경로 추종의 효율성에 관한 연구이다. 자율주행 자동차의 ‘기술 현황’ 과 ‘주요 사용 센서 현황’을 통해 사용센서를 선정하였고, 선정한 센서들의 특성을 분석하였다. 초음파, 적외선, 조도 센서를 이용해 환경 변수가 제한된 상황에서 경로 추종 주행 연구를 실시하였다. 이 연구를 통해 동일 환경이라도 센서의 값이 상이한 것을 확인하였다.

샤피충격시험은 동적하중 하에 있는 고분자 재료의 거동을 이해하는데 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 샤피충격시험장치에서 얻어지는 파단에너지를 사용하여 나일론 소재 샤피 시편의 노치각도에 따른 에너지 해방율을 구하는 방법을 제시하였다. 또한 샤피충격시험장치를 계장화하여 최대 하중과 파단 시까지 소요되는 에너지 등의 파손인자들을 산출하였다. 그리고 노치각도에 따른 동적파괴 인성치와 유한요소법을 사용하여 중앙집중 하중 하에서 사피 시편의 노치각도에 따른 응력분포를 산출하였다. The notched Charpy impact test is one of the most prevalent techniques used to characterize the effect of high impulse loads on polymeric materials. In this study, a method of analysis in nylon plastic materials is suggested to evaluate the critical strain energy release rate for variation of notch angles from the Charpy impact energy measurement. Instrumented Charpy impact tester was used to extract ancillary information concerning fracture parameters in addition to total fracture properties and maximum critical load. The dynamic stress intensity factor of nylon plastic material was calculated for the ASTM Charpy specimen from the obtained maximum critical load. Also, the finite element model was developed to figure out the stress distributions for Charpy specimen with different notch angles subject to 3 point bending load which is equivalent to the load applied in the experiment.
