In these ways, play promotes imagination of children, and thus functions as a motive power to develop their creativity. Among others, symbolic play, an activity which is not previously planned but naturally occurning through children's own imagination, experiences, and desire, provides the richest opportunities for children to develop their creativity. It provides various kinds of opportanities for children to develop imagination, and find out new kinds and ways of activity with toys and tools they were used to playing. By so doing, symbolic play contributes greatly to creativity of children. As such, play, a natural but important activity in children's daily life, is critical to the development of children's imagination and creativity. Thus, play should be given high priority to the other educational activities for children.
