This study is conducted into initial experiment of a study on the horizontally injected spray formation using image analysis technique. And it is be closely related with domestic boiler. Fuels of domestic boiler are kerosene & different types of biodiesel. The property of fuels must be collected at cold start temperature. So, Measurement of the property in the range of 263~313K is essential for this study. Biodiesel is made of kerosene, soybean oil, lard, beef oil and has blending rate BD10, BD20, BD30, BD50, BD75. As a result of measurement and analysis, the viscosity increases as temperature decreases and blending rate increases. But the viscosity displays different trend to each blending rate and fuel type. Next, the surface tension was shown small differences on the effect of temperature. Therefore, measurement of surface tension was focused on the influence of blending rate. Lard and Soybean oil have a similar surface tension. Beef oil has low surface tension as compared with other oil

This study is precedent performance characteristic study of the biodiesel boiler. Spray image analysis of pressure nozzle was carried out on various injection pressure conditions and horizontal spray condition. Spray image was obtained by the image acquisition device (halogen light, high speed camera) and the fuel supply device (biodiesel chamber, regulator, pressure gage). Fuels used in the experiment are Lard, Soybean and Kerosene. Through the experiment, spray angle and spray velocity were measured.
