미군정시기부터 현재까지 초등 사회과 교과서에 기술된 독도 서술내용을 분석하였다. 이것을 통하여 우리의 현대사 흐름속에서 독도가 어떻게 표현되고 교육되었는지 파악하고자 하였다. 박정희 정권부터 노태우 정권의 시기였던 2차부터 5차 교육과정 시기는 일본에 대한 정치적 태도가 매우 우호적이었다. 그렇지만 이 시기에 발생한 한일간의 이슈들은 정부의 태도와 상이하게 국민들의 대일 감정은 부정적으로 나타났고, 이것은 다음 시기에 개정되는 교과에 상당부분 영향을 주었다. 그런데 정부에서 독도 영유권 문제와 대일관계, 또는 어업협정 문제를 별도의 것으로 규정하면서 6차 시기 이후부터는 정치 · 사회적 이슈에 독도에 대한 기술이 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 확인되었다. 그렇지만 2005년 3월, 시마네 현의 ‘다케시마의 날’제정 선포라는 큰 이슈가 나타나자, 2008년에는 동북아역사재단에 독도연구소가 개설되었고 2011년부터 사회과 교과와 별도의 독도 교과서가 개발되어 전문적인 학습 자료로 활용되기 시작했다. 결국 독도 교육의 방향은 대체로 일본과의 관계 또는 정치 사회적 분위기에 영향을 받았으며, 흐름을 같이 해 왔다. 이것은 향후 한일관계의 변화에 따라 독도 교육에 대한 목표와 방향이 달라질 수 있다는 것을 의미하기도 한다. 독도를 둘러싼 정치 · 사회적 이슈를 배제할 수는 없지만, 우리가 독도에 대한 영토 주권을 행사하고 있으며 독도가 우리의 영토라는 사실은 변하지 않는다. 따라서 독도 교육에 있어서 ‘우리 영토에 대한 교육’이라는 궁극적 목적이 견고해야 한다. This study analyzed elementary social studies curriculum on Dokdo from the period of the United States military government authority to the present. The aim of this study was to learn how Dokdo was expressed and taught in modern history. Moreover, it examined how education on Dokdo has been affected by social and political circumstances. Especially from the Park Chung-hee government to the Roh Tae- woo government (second to fifth part of the education curriculum) a friendly political attitude existed towards Japan. However, issues that occurred between Korea and Japan made Koreans develop more negative attitudes toward Japan. This was the opposite of the Korean government and influenced educational curriculum of the next generation. But, the government separated dominium of Dokdo in the Korean-Japanese Fisheries Agreement and in the Korea-Japan relationship. After the sixth generation, educational curriculum involving descriptions of Dokdo’s history was not influenced by social and political issues. In March 2005, Shimane Prefecture proclaimed Takeshima Day. Because of this major event, Dokdo Research Institute was founded under Northeast Asian History Foundation in 2008, and the official textbook of Dokdo is being used for learning materials since 2011. The educational curriculum of Dokdo was influenced by the relationship between Japan and political social circumstances. This means that through changes in the Korea-Japan relationship, Dokdo’s education can be changed. Dokdo’s education has to hold onto the goal of territorial education in Korea, without being affected by political and social issues.

중국에 현존하는 마테오리치의 지도는 모두 세 본이다. 요녕성박물관에 소장된 목판본 『양의현람도』, 남경박물관에 소장된 채색본 『곤여만국전도』, 중국국가도서관에 소장되어 있지만 훼손된 채색본 『곤여만국 전도』이다. 본문에서는 앞의 두 지도에 관하여 소개할 것이며, 이미 잘 알려진 세 본의 조선모회본 『곤여만 국전도』와 함께 고찰할 것이다. 그 이유는 현존하는 『곤여만국전도』 채색 모회본은 분명 두 개의 직접적인 모본이 있으며, 두 모본은 원본이 있기 때문이다. 그리고 원본은 서양 선교사가 제작했을 가능성이 크다. There are three copies of Matteo Ricci’s world maps known in China. One is a wood cut copy of Liangyi Xuanlan Tu, Ricci's world map of 1603 preserved in Liaoning Museum. The Second is a colored copy of Kunyu Wanguo Quantu, the Ricci’s world map of 1602 preserved in Nanjing Museum. The Third is a remnants colored copy of Kunyu Wanguo Quantu preserved in Chinese National Museum. The paper elaborates Liangyi Xuanlan Tu in Liaoning Museum and Kunyu Wanguo Quantu in Nanjing Museum, as well as examines three copies of Korean colored editions of Kunyu Wanguo Quantu that we know, based on which to claim that there are two originals for existing colored copies of Kunyu Wanguo Quantu, whose missing parent maps might be still made by western missionaries.
