저염분에 대한 개량조개 (Mactra chinensis) 의 생리적 반응

To investigate the tolerance of Sunray surf clam, Mactra chinensis in low salinities, survival and physiological responses related to osmoregulation of clams (60.2 ± 3.5 mm) were examined in 10, 20 and 30 psu at 15℃. The survival rate was 65.0% in 20 psu up to 216 h, while in 10 psu, severe mortality was recorded after 48 h and all died up to 96 h. Total hemocyte count (THC) was maintained a consistent level in 30 psu. While in 20 psu, it tended to decrease up to 24 h and afterwards, recovered gradually. In 10 psu, it was increased up to 6 h and tended to decrease later on. Osmolality of hemolymph followed the level of experimental water after 3 h 30 and 20 psu respectively, while in 10 psu, it did not completely follow the level of experimental water up to 48 h. Na<SUP>+</SUP>, Cl<SUP>-</SUP>, K<SUP>+</SUP> and Ca of hemolymph showed the same as the result of osmolality. Glucose of hemolymph was significantly increased at 72 h in 20 psu. In 10 psu, it was significantly increased at 12 h first and sharply increased at 48 h. Aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) of hemolymph were significantly increased at 48 h in 10 psu simultaneously. Oxygen consumption and ammonia excretion were significantly decreased below 20 psu. Therefore, it is judged to be harmful on physiological activity of Mactra chinensis when be exposed to 20 psu over 72 h or to 10 psu over 12 h, respectively.

Optimizing the conditions for stem cell culture is an essential prerequisite for the efficient utilization of stem cells. In the culture of fish embryonic stem cells (ESCs) or ESC-like cells, embryo extracts are important for stable growth, but there is no rule for determining the developmental stage of the embryos used to obtain extracts. Therefore, this study investigated the effects of the developmental stage of extract donor embryos on the culture of Oryzias dancena ESC-like cells. O. dancena ESC-like cells were cultured in different media containing each of four types of embryo extract depending on the developmental stage of the extract donor embryos. Growth, morphology, colony-forming ability, alkaline phosphatase (AP) activity, and embryoid body (EB) formation of the cells were investigated. While the developmental stage of the extract donor embryos did not influence the growth, morphology, AP activity, or EB formation of ESC-like cells, colony-forming ability was affected and the pattern of the effects differed completely between the two ESC-like cells investigated. These results suggest that the developmental stage of extract donor embryos should be selected carefully for the culture of ESC-like cells, according to the research purpose and type of cell line.
몬테 카를로 시뮬레이션 기반 변동성을 고려한 에너지 저장 시스템 용량 계산에 대한 고찰

에너지 시스템의 다양한 수요와 공급 대응 문제를 해결하기 위해 에너지 저장시스템이 새로운 해결책으로 주목 받고 있다. 특히 재생에너지의 공급 비중이 커져가면서 에너지 공급과 수요의 불확실성을 고려하는 것이 에너지 시스템의 운영에 가장 어려운 문제가 되었다. 본 논문에서는 에너지 저장 시스템이 필요한 용량을 산정하는데, 수요와 공급의 불확실성을 몬테 카를로 시뮬레이션 기법으로 반영하고 이에 연관된 이슈들을 다루었다. 본 연구에서 제기된 이슈들은 에너지 시스템이 가지고 있는 불확실성속에서도 향후 에너지 저장 시스템의 안정적 운영에 활용되어 후속 연구들의 기반이 될 수 있을 것이다. An Energy Storage System (ESS) is recently drawing an increasing attention as an efficient tool to cope with variation in the energy system. In order to take the best utilization of ESS, the inherent variation of energy supply and demand should be properly addressed. This paper is concerned with computing the stochastic capacity of ESS in the face of such variations by way of Monte Carlo simulation. The issue of uncertainty in energy systems will be given further focus. More works are expected to be followed to address the issues in academia and industry.
