This study was undertaken to investigate the characteristics of diesel fuel added ultrasonic energy. We compared conventional diesel fuel with diesel fuel added ultrasonic energy in Branch Index result from ¹H-NMR spectrum and viscosity. Also. Droplet size measurements using Malvem system were made to evaluate the effect of ultrasonic energy. Having performed these experiments. we obtained the results as follows.<br/> 1. Branch Index and viscosity of diesel fuel was reduced as ultrasonic energy added time<br/> increased.<br/> 2. SMD of diesel fuel added ultrasonic energy was smaller than that of conventional diesel<br/> fuel.<br/> 3. SMD was reduced as injection pressure increased. <br/> 4. Regardless of the type of injector, SMD variation with distance from injector was<br/> proportional.<br/>

The main feature of electret is their ability to remove particulate matter from polluted air by strong electrostatic forces generated by the electret fibers from which they are made. High voltage corona discharge methode were used to made electret filter, and the performance characteristics of electret filter were measured by Filter Tester(TSI, Model 8130). Tests against various conditions shown that electret filters capture fine dust particles very effectively, while offering minimum of flow resistance.

This paper describes briefly the effect of ultrasonic fuel supply device on the performance of four stroke cycle gasoline engine. Experiments were carried out to clarify the effect of ultrasonic fuel supply device on the engine output, traveling fuel consumption ratio, exhaust emissions. Attaching the ultrasonic fuel supply device to the conventional injector of the gasoline engine, engine output and traveling fuel consumption ratio, exhaust emissions were improved.
