수입산 관상 금붕어(Carassius auratus)의 CyHV-2 감염 증례

In this study, imported ornamental goldfish (Oranda and black moor) with high mortality was investigated with histopathological analysis. Fishes showed clinical symptoms characterized by gill necrosis and cumulative mortality ranging from 60% to 90% within a month after import from Thailand and China in 2021. CyHV-2 was detected in gill, kidney, spleen and liver of goldfishes. Histopathological analysis revealed epithelial necrosis, intranuclear inclusion bodies associated with viral symptoms in epithelial cell, macrophage infiltration and vacuolation in secondary lamella. In addition, disseminated granuloma formation was observed in various organs such as kidney, heart and mesenchymal membranes. These lesions refer to coinfections with CyHV-2 and other pathogens that cause chronic inflammation, which leads to mortality. Therefore, early disease monitoring needs to reduce the mortality when ornamental goldfish is imported.
관상 전기뱀장어(Electrophorus electricus)의 피부 궤양병 증례

In this study, dead electric eel (Electrophorus electricus) imported from Peru was investigated with histopathological analysis. On the third day after import, the electric eel began to exhibit clinical symptoms including severe ulceration, exposed muscles with hemorrhage in head and body lesions. Aeromonas hydrophila and A. veronii were detected from skin lesions, whereas A. hydrophila and Plesiomonas shigelloides were detected from internal organs. Histopathological analysis revealed epithelial desquamation in ulcer, epithelial and goblet cell hyperplasia, and lymphocyte infiltration in epidermis. In dermis, macrophage infiltration and colonization of A. hydrophila or A. veronii were seen. The activation and infiltration of macrophage associated with bacterial septicemia were observed in kidney and spleen. It is presumed to be mortality of electric eel due to septicemia caused by opportunistic infectious bacteria after transport stress.
조피볼락의 수온별 혈액학적 및 병리조직학적 정상치 탐색

In this study, clinically healthy Korean rockfish were provided by a farm and then raised in a lab for 14 days at three different temperatures (10℃, 15℃, and 20℃) to establish hematological, blood biochemical, and histopathological reference intervals against normal fish. Hematocrit, MCV, MCHC, total protein, BUN, and GPT values in the blood showed significant differences among temperature groups. As the water temperature increased, neutrophil, thrombocyte, and lymphocyte counts also rose, while the monocyte value peaked at 15℃. The histopathological score revealed significant variations in the gills, stomach, and inflammation indices by temperature group; the gills and inflammation indices peaked at 20℃, whereas the stomach index peaked at 15℃. It is expected that information on these normal values will serve as a fundamental collection of data for further studies related to laboratory-based experiments.
