크리스토퍼 래번 작품에 나타난 업사이클 디자인의 특성 사례연구

업사이클 패션은 버려지거나 방치된 원재료를 리메이드하여 업그레이드된 고부가가치 패션 제품으로 재탄생시키는 작업으로, 이는 최근 국내외 패션에 있어 지속가능 패션디자인을 실현하기 위한 새로운 트렌드로 각광받고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 현대패션에 있어 업사이클링 트렌드를 주도하고 있는 크리스토퍼 래번의 여성복 컬렉션 분석을 통해 패스트 패션을 주도하는 여성복 패션시장에 성공적인 업사이클 패션의 방법을 제시하고자 함이다. 즉, 크리스토퍼 래번의 컬렉션 가운데 업사이클 제품을 추출 · 분석하여 그 특성을 도출하고, 이를 통해 고부가가치를 지닌 업사이클 패션 제품 개발의 가이드라인으로 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위한 연구방법으로는 문헌 및 실증적 연구를 병행하였고, 시각자료의 분석 범위는 2010년 AW에서 2014년 AW 컬렉션으로 한정하였다. 먼저, 선행 연구, 인터넷 자료, 관련 서적 등을 통해, 지속가능 패션 및 업사이클 디자인의 등장배경 및 개념 등에 대한 고찰을 진행하였다. 다음으로, 래번의 컬렉션 작품 178점의 실증적 분석을 통해 업사이클 디자인을 추출 · 분석하여 업사이클 패션의 특성을 도출하였으며 각각을 규명하였다. 업사이클의 미학으로 지속가능 패션을 실현하는 크리스토퍼 래번은 군복, 침낭 등의 군수용품, 낙하산, 폐기되는 소재 조각 등, 소비하지 않고 쓰레기로 전락할 수 있었던 재료들에 독창적 아이디어, 수공예적 디테일, 기능적 업그레이드를 접목시켰다. 또한 제품이 가지는 희소성과 지역거점 생산을 통해 가치를 부각시켜 미적, 기능적으로 한층 더 업그레이드된 제품으로 변화시켰다. 즉, 크리스토퍼래번의 작품에 나타난 이와 같은 특성들은 21세기의 트렌디한 소비자들을 리드하는 업사이클링 패션제품을 탄생시켰다. 향후 연구로는 업사이클을 실현하는 국내 브랜드의 분석 및 국내외 제품의 상호 비교 연구나 이를 바탕으로 한 제품 개발 또한 제안하는 바이다. Nowadays, sustainable fashion emerges as a solution for the economic, environmental, and ethical problems in the global fashion industry. Upcycling is one way to accomplish the sustainable fashion design by converting discarded garments and textile waste into the high added value fashion products of better quality. The purpose of this study is to provide a guideline for the upcycled fashion accomplishing the sustainable fashion. upcycle fashion products in Christopher Raeburn’s collection were collected and analyzed and the major characteristics for successful upcycle were examined. Theoretical studies were reviewed and 178 visual products from 2010 to 2014 AW collection were analyzed. Christopher Raeburn is inspired from the old military stocks such as uniforms, sleeping bags, parachutes. He reinterpreted with his creativity and reproduce the products with the craftsmanship and functional approach. All his upcyling products were locally made with local based materials. upcycle tend will be continued leading nowadays fashion pursuing the sustainable fashion.

현대패션에 나타난 역사적 디테일의 차용

현대인들이 느끼는 미래에 대한 불안과 과거에 대한 향수, 새로움에 대한 끊임없는 열망은 복식사를 참고하는 다양한 패션의 탄생을 야기시켰다. 이는 20세기말 중요하게 대두된 테마로서, 포스트모던 건축과 패션을 통해 다양하게 펼쳐졌다. 본 연구는 현대 패션에 나타난 역사적 디테일의 차용에 대한 고찰을 통해 복식사의 다양한 스타일이 창조적인 패션 디자인 개발을 위한 무궁무진한 영감의 보고로서 활용될 수 있음을 재확인하고자 하였다. 우선, 문헌적 자료를 바탕으로 건축과 패션에 등장한 역사주의를 살펴보았다. 또한 제3의 밀레니엄을 전후한 1990년대에서 현재에 이르기까지의 디자이너 콜렉션에서, 과거 복식을 참고로 한 패션 디자인의 실례를 수집하여 디테일에 따라 분석하였으며 이를 통해 현대 패션에서 과거 복식에 등장한 디테일의 차용 방법을 규명하였다. 역사는 포스트모더니즘 문화 가운데 건축과 패션 등에서 모든 사람들의 생활에 근접하게 다가왔으며, 동시대의 많은 디자이너들은 역사적 디테일을 다양한 소재와 기술, 형태로 끊임없이 재구성하였다. 이러한 예들은 과거 복식에서 등장하는 콜셋, 칼라와 슬리브, 크리놀린과 벗슬 등의 퓨전에서 찾아볼 수 있었으며, 이러한 복식사적 디테일은 의외의 재질과 기술로 변형되고 과장되며, 현대적 아이템과 함께 재구성됨을 알 수 있었다. 이상과 같이, 복식사적 디테일의 차용은 현대 패션의 중요한 테마로서 오늘날의 많은 디자이너들 작품에서 빈번히 등장하였다. 따라서 복식사에서 등장하는 수많은 디테일이 현대의 독창적인 패션 디자인 창조를 위한 무한한 참고자료로서 의의가 있음을 재확인하였으며, 이를 통해 복식사 연구에 대한 시각이 단순한 사적 연구에 국한되지 않고 창조적 패션 디자인 개발을 위한 영감의 보고로서 확장되어야 함을 제안하였다. In the contemporary fashion, historical fusion merging the historical styles with new technology and uniqueness became one of the major trends. Many contemporary fashion designers have referred to the costume history and mixed historical styles with the contemporary fashion. In this study, the designs showing historical references in the contemporary fashion were analyzed by details to provide the fresh ideas for designing creative fashions and to propose the desirable approach toward studying the costume history. First of all, historicism in the post-modern architecture and fashion were examined to find out the background of appropriation of historical details in the contemporary fashion, Since the history has come closer in everyday life especially in fashion and architecture in the post-modern culture. And the fashion and the architecture are akin to the human as a micro and macro environment surrounding us. And the examples of the appropriation of historical details in the contemporary fashion were analyzed by constructive details. In the contemporary fashion, historical details have been reworked with advanced technology and materials, exaggerated, and reconstructed in the mix & match with the contemporary outfits. In other words, the ways of appropriation of historical details could be explained as transformation, exaggeration, and reconstruction. In conclusion, historical details are the greatest inferences to invent the creative fashion designs. And studying costume history should not been overlooked since this can offer great inspirations to the contemporary designers interested in historical styles and trying to develop them into more creative fashion designs.

노년기 여성을 위한 한국적 이미지의 조끼디자인 개발

퍼놀로지(Funology)의 특성이 반영된 현대패션에 관한 연구 - 2000 S/S~2008 S/S를 중심으로

퍼놀로지란 기능에 재미의 요소를 첨가시킨 제품이나 활동을 의미하는 것으로, 무거운 현실로부터 벗어나고자 하는 현대인들의 일탈 심리, `펀` 감성이 만연한 사회적 풍토, 가벼움의 소비를 추구하는 경제적 상황 속에 우리의 삶에 더욱 밀접하게 다가오고 있다. 현대 패션에 있어서도 유머와 개성을 통한 파격적인 미를 표현하는 현상이 주목되고 있는데, 본 연구에서는 이를 패션에 나타난 퍼놀로지라고 규정하고 이에 대한 분석을 통해 창조적인 디자인 개발의 발상 방법 및 범위를 확대하고자 한다. 먼저, 패션 사조에 등장하는 `펀`의 미학을 초현실주의와 팝아트를 통해 고찰하였다. 초현실주의의 영향을 받은 패션은 기존의 획일화된 의상에서 탈피한 새롭고 전위적인 감각으로 `펀`을 표현하였고, 팝아트의 영향을 받은 1960년대 영 패션은 자유로운 감각의 표현이나 개성표출로 신선함과 재미를 전달하였다. 퍼놀로지가 가지는 내적 의미는 현실로부터 도피하고자 하는 현대인의 일탈 심리의 표출로서, 이는 패션에서 여러가지 표현 형식으로 등장하였다; 첫째, 형태적인 왜곡에서 비롯된 `펀`, 둘째, 유아적 요소의 믹스에서 비롯된 `펀, 셋째, 그라피티의 표현에 의한 `펀`, 넷째, 캐릭터 프린트에 의한 `펀`, 마지막으로, 이질적인 소재의 믹스에서 비롯된 `펀`. 이상에서 살펴본 바와 같이, 오늘날의 패션은 퍼놀로지적 특성을 다양한 방법으로 표현하고 있다. 이는 독창적인 패션 개발을 위한 무한한 아이디어의 원천으로서 의의가 있으며, 메마른 현대인들의 정서를 치유해 줄 힐링 콘텐츠로서 더욱 큰 의미를 갖는다. Funology menas the products or activity that combines fun and technology. Nowadays, funology is one of the keywords that explains the current culture. The purpose of this study is to provide the inspirations for the creative fashion carrying funology in the 21st century. The background of funology in fashion could be found in Surrealism and Pop-art. The contemporary fashion in the 21st century also expresses the characteristics of funology based on the people`s pursue of being free from the everyday`s routine. The characteristics of funology in the contemporary fashion were shown as follows: deformation by the exaggeration or transformation, mixture of children`s items, the use of graffiti, patterns with friendly characters, mixture of unusual fabrics. To sum up, fashions showing funology were expressed in various ways among the contemporary fashion. This will provide the great inspirations for creating the new coming fashions and efficient contents for healing cold-hearted emotions of nowaday`s people.

뉴밀레니엄시대 패션에 나타난 `페이크 펀(fake fun)`디자인

뉴밀레니엄 소비자들은 유쾌한 상상 속에 위기 상황이나 지루한 상황을 벗어날 수 있는 `페이크 펀` 디자인에 열광하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 21세기 패션 전반에 `페이크 펀` 디자인이 어떻게 표현되었는지를 분석함으로써, 뉴밀레니엄 시대 소비자의 차별화된 문화 코드에 부응하는 패션 제품 개발 및 매장 전개에 가이드라인을 제시하고자 함이다. 이를 위해, 밀레니엄시대 소비자의 특성 및 변화된 라이프스타일을 바탕으로 `펀` 디자인의 등장 배경을 고찰하고, `페이크 펀` 디자인의 개념을 정리하였으며, 산업디자인 제품 사례를 통해 제품에 나타난 `페이크 펀` 디자인을 살펴보았다. 마지막으로, 2000년대 패션에 반영된 `페이크 펀`의 사례를 조사하였다. 연구방법으로는 관련 기사 및 서적, 선행 연구를 바탕으로 한 이론적 고찰과 산업디자인 제품과 뉴밀레니엄 패션 가운데 나타난 `페이크 펀` 디자인을 조사하는 사례 연구가 병행되었으며, 뉴밀레니엄 패션의 조사 범위는 2000년 이후부터 2012년 s/s 컬렉션으로 한정하였다. `페이크 펀` 디자인은 눈속임으로 진짜같이 보이는 것이 가짜임을 확인하는 경우, 즉 정상적인 기대로부터 벗어난 부조화적 상황에서 유쾌함과 재미를 전달하는 디자인으로, 기발한 상상력에서 비롯된 `페이크 펀` 디자인 요소로 재미를 주는 액세서리나 문구류들은 젊은이들 사이에 폭발적인 인기이다. 뉴밀레니엄 패션에 나타난 `페이크 펀` 디자인은 제품뿐 아니라 제품의 진열 방식 및 판매방식 등 매장 환경에서 구매의 즐거움을 제공하는 측면에도 다양하게 적용되고 있다. 2000년 이후의 기성복 컬렉션에서도 오브제의 쓰임새를 엉뚱한 위치로 이동시키거나 착용 위치를 뒤바꾼 스타일 등의 위치 왜곡, 의복의 일반적 형태를 왜곡하고 정상적인 착장 형식을 파괴하는 형태 왜곡, 눈속임 기법 등 현실 세계에서 불가능한 조합과 부조화를 통한 일탈은 보는 이에게 유쾌한 감정을 유발한다. 이상과 같이 `페이크 펀` 패션은 뉴밀레니엄 시대의 주요한 트렌드로 자리매김하고 있다. Fake fun design is popular among twenty first century consumers since they are eager to escape their dull daily routines through fun imagination. The purpose of this study is to analyze how fake fun design is expressed in fashion of the 21st century and suggest the guidelines for developing fashion products and store environments. First, theoretical study about fake fun design was reviewed and the examples among the industrial design products were examined. Also, the fake fun fashion in the store environment and ready-to-wear collection from the year two thousand to 2012 s/s were collected and analyzed. Fake fun design creates a sense of amusement, for it tricks the eye. Accessaries and stationaries based on imagination are very popular among young consumers nowadays. Fake fun fashion is shown in displays or methods of selling fashion products. In the ready-to-wear collection, fake fun fashion is also shown in the displacement of object, distortion of wearing, transformation, and optical illusion causing fun through unusual or inharmonious mix and match. This fake fun fashion is the key trend leading a new millenium fashion.

K-pop 스타 패션에 나타난 키치의 조형적 특성 연구

개성 있는 패션 연출로 차별화된 스타일을 추구하는 현대인들은 스타들의 키치 패션을 중요한 패션 코드로 수용하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 K-pop 스타 패션 가운데 키치 패션을 수집, 분석하여 그 미적 특성과 표현방법을 도출하는 것으로, 이를 바탕으로 개성적 스타일링을 제안하고 독창적 디자인 아이디어를 제공하고자 함이다. 먼저, 문헌 연구를 통해 키치의 개념 및 변천, 조형적 특성과 키치패션의 개념 및 변천을 고찰하였다. 다음으로, K-pop 스타 가운데 키치 패션을 대표하는 싸이, 2NE1, 지드래곤, 이효리의 의상을 수집, 분석하여 K-pop 스타 패션에 나타난 키치의 조형적 특성을 분석하였다. 키치 패션은 1950, 1960년대 하위문화에서 나타났으며 현대인들에게 키치는 개성 표출과 즐거움을 전달하는 펀(fun)의 도구로서 트렌드를 리드한다. K-pop 스타들의 키치 패션에 나타나는 미적 특성 가운데, 과장성은 과다한 장식이나 액세서리의 사용, 산만한 패턴의 무질서한 조합, 인체 특정 부위를 부풀리는 형태적 과장에서 비롯되었으며, 부적절성은 어울리지 않는 색이나 패턴의 부조화적 매치, 서로 어울리지 않는 아이템의 스타일링으로 요약된다. 끝으로 유희성은 동물 인형, 애니메이션 등 동심을 자극하는 유아적 요소를 모티브로 한 키치적 액세서리나 장식의 사용, 기괴한 발상에서 비롯된 장난스럽고 유치한 패턴에서 비롯되며 펀의 감정을 유발한다. 이상과 같이 K-pop 스타들의 키치 패션은 기존 문화에 식상함, 지루한 일상을 탈피하고자 하는 현대소비자들에게 신선함과 즐거움을 제공할 것이며 신선한 스타일링과 디자인의 영감을 제공할 것이다. The purpose of this study is to analyze the aesthetic characteristics of Kitsch fashion based on K-pop stars fashion, suggest the way of unique styling, and provide the inference to contemporary fashion design. As a background research, the definition and history of Kitsch fashion were reviewed. And the ways of expression and meanings of Kitsch appeared in K-pop stars fashion were extracted by analyzing fashion of Psy, 2NE1, G-dragon, Hyori Lee from 2010 until now. Kitsch fashion appeared among the subculture styles in 50s and 60s, and leads the contemporary trends. Kitsch fashion of K-pop stars is characterized as follows. 1) The characteristic of exaggeration is expressed in use of excessive accessaries and details, mix of patterns, exaggeration of certain body part. 2) the characteristic of inappropriateness is expressed in mismatch of colors, patterns, and cross-coordination of items. 3) the characteristic of playfulness is expressed in the accessary, decoration, and patterns using childish motifs causing fun. To sum up, K-pop stars fashion playes a key role in fashion trend providing fresh and fun ideas to contemporary fashion.

제로 웨이스트 커팅 패션 디자인 사례 연구

기술 발달 및 경제적 풍요로 인한 제품의 생산·소비·폐기 단계들의 압축으로 야기된 환경오염에 관련한 문제점이 심각하게 고려된 현재, 많은 국가와 기업들이 다방면으로 환경 보호를 위한 노력을 지속하고 있으며, 이 실현을 위하여 21세기에 떠오른 패러다임이 지속가능함이다. 본 연구는 패션 분야에서 지속가능함을 실현하기 위한 방법 중 하나로 해외에서는 활발하나 국내에서는 그 연구 및 실현이 미흡한 제로 웨이스트 커팅 패션 디자인을 분석하고 그 특성을 도출하여 국내에서도 다양한 방식의 제로 웨이스트 커팅 패션 디자인을 실현하는데 참고자료가 되고자 하였으며, 이를 위하여 이론적 고찰과 실증적 사례 분석을 진행하였다. 이론적 고찰을 통하여 지속가능 패션 디자인 및 실현 방안 그리고 제로 웨이스트 커팅에 대하여 고찰하고, 해외에서 활발히 활동 중인 제로 웨이스트 커팅 패션 디자이너들의 작품들을 선정하여 사례 분석을 진행하였다. 그 결과 제로 웨이스트 커팅 패션 디자인에 사용되는 소재나 구현된 의상의 디자인은 기성복과 크게 다르지 않음이 나타났다. 다만 이를 위하여 기존과는 다른 다양한 패턴 구성 방식이 사용되었으며, 이는 1)패턴이 퍼즐 조각들처럼 구성된 지그조우 커팅(jig-saw cutting) 2)원단에 구멍을 내어 그 구멍을 인체가 통과하며 둘러 입도록 한 서브트랙션(subtraction) 커팅, 3)절개선을 최소화하고 접는 방식으로 의복을 구성한 미니멀 심(minimal seam) 커팅 방식으로 분류되었다. 향후 연구로는 본 연구에서 도출한 패턴 구성 방식을 적용한 의상 디자인 및 제작을 통하여 각 구성 방식별 장단점을 비교 분석하는 연구를 제안하는 바이다. Nowadays, environmental pollution issues caused by development of technology and economic affluence are considered seriously. Therefore countries and industries are continuing their efforts to solve these problems. And “Sustainability is the 21st century`s new design paradigm for realizing the environmental protection. Although zero waste cutting fashion design is a way of realizing sustainability in fashion area, related researches are deficient. Thus the purpose of this research is to provide the basic guideline for zero waste cutting fashion design. For this, literature research and empirical case study are proceeded. First, literature research about sustainable fashion design and zero waste cutting were reviewed and the examples used zero waste cutting were analyzed. In the result, material and design used in zero waste cutting fashion design are not much different from ready to wear. But for this, they used various ways of pattern construction such as jigsaw cutting, subtraction cutting, and minimal seam cutting. The analysis on the each cutting methods are as follows. 1) jigsaw cutting method is making pattern pieces in puzzle shape. 2) subtraction cutting method is opening unusual shape holes to allow the materials can be twisted through. 3) minimal seam cutting method is minimizing seams in the construction by folding fabrics instead. It is suggesting that the development of prototypes applied 3 types of pattern construction and comparison between strength and weakness of each types as the future research.
