        本 硏究는 1985년 8月부터 1990年 8月 사이에 京畿道 利川郡 所在 S農場에서 生産되어 體重基準으로 檢定된 Duroc種, Landrace種 및 Yorkshire種 3個品種 總 5,724頭에 대한 資料에 根據하여 돼지의 主要 經濟形質에 미치는 性, 産次, 出生季節, 同腹仔豚數 및 檢定開始日齡의 效果를 推定하기 위하여 遂行하였던 바 그 結果를 要約하면 다음과 같다. 1. 調査된 形質의 性間 차이를 보면 Duroc種, Landrace種 및 Yorkshire種의 등지방 두께에서 수퇘지가 各各 1,836㎝, 1,508㎝ 및 1,866㎝로서 암퇘지에서의 2,085㎝, 1,525㎝ 및 1,940㎝보다 優秀하였고, 日當增體量, 90㎏到達日齡 및 154日齡體重도 3品種에서 수퇘지가 優秀하였다. 2. 檢定豚의 出生季節은 調査된 모든 形質에서 여름과 겨울에 出生한 仔豚이 優秀하였으며 産次의 效果에서 등지방두께는 Duroc種과 Yorkshire種에서 1産次일 때 各各 1,935㎝ 및 1,820㎝로서 가장 얇았고 日當增體量은 Duroc種과 Landrace種은 2∼3産次에서, Yorkshire種은 6産次 이상에서 가장 무거웠으며 90㎏到達日齡과 154日齡體重은 4∼5産次에서 優秀하였다. 3. Duroc種과 Landrace種에서 등지방두께는 同腹仔豚數가 7頭 이하일때 가장 우수하였고 Yorkshire種은 7頭이하에서 가장 不良하였으며, 日當增體重은 Duroc種은 8∼11頭 Landrace種은 12頭이상 그리고 Yorkshire種은 7頭이하에서 各各 가장 優秀하였으며 90㎏到達日齡과 154日齡體中은 Duroc種과 Yorkshire種에서는 7頭 이하일 때 優秀하였다. 4. 調査된 形質의 檢定開始日齡의 效果를 보면 日當增體重은 開始日齡이 느릴수록 優秀하였고 90㎏到達日齡과 154日齡體衆重은 開始日齡가 빠를수록 優秀하였다. 또한 등지방 두께는 Duroc種과 Yorkshire種에서는 開始日齡이 75日 이하일 때 그리고 Landrace種은 76日에서 85日사이일때 가장 優秀하였다. This study was conducted to investigate the genetic and the effects of the environmental factors on economically important traits in Swine. The traits studied were backfat thickness, average daily gain, age at 90㎏ and 154day weight. The data used in this study were obtained from 5,724 herds of Duroc, Landrace and Yorkshire breed tested on a weight-constant basis at S Swine Breeding Farm at lcheon, Kyunggi Do from August 1985 to August 1990. 1. Males had thinner backfat of 1.836㎝ in Duroc, Landrace and Yorkshire than females of the respective breeds. Also, Males growth traits was superior to those in females. 2. Season of birth was superior to the summer and winter. And backfat were superior in the 1st parity in Duroc and Yorkshire, 4th to 5th parity in Landrace, Also average daily gain was heaviest in the 2nd from 3rd parity to the Duroc and Landrace and age at 90㎏ and 154day weight was superior in the 4th from 5th to the parity 3. In the Duroc and Landrace backfat was thinnest in the litter size under 7 and York-shire was best thickness in the litter size under 7. Average daily gain was superior in the litter size 8∼11 for Duroc, over 12 for Land-race and under 7 for the Yorkshire, respectively. 4. For the start age average daily gain was superior to the slow age at 90㎏ and 154day weight was superior to the fast. Also, In the Duroc and Yorkshire backfat was superior in start age under 75day and 76day to 85day for Landrace.

      • The Effects of Nitrogen and Oxygen Abundance Variations on The Evolutionary Tracks of Low-Mass Stars

        Recent observations show that there are variations in light elements, such as C, N, O, and Na, between the sub-populations in most globular clusters in the Milky Way. In order to investigate their effects on the evolution of stars in globular clusters, we constructed new sets of isochrones and horizontal branch evolutionary tracks under different assumptions as to the abundance of N and O ([N/Fe] and [O/Fe], respectively). In this talk, we will present our preliminary results from these calculations.

        돼지의 산자수와 이유시 생존율에 미치는 환경요인의 효과

        This study was conducted to investigate the effects of parity, season and year of farrowing on the preweaning traits of swine based on the data obtained from 1,370 litters of Duroc, Hampshire, Landrace and Yorkshire breeds. The sows were raised at the Swine Breeding Station of National Livestock Cooperatives Federation in Yeong Kwang from 1983 through 1986. Least squares means were computed within breed and the results are summarized as follows: 1. Overall least squares means for litter size alive were superior in Landrace (9.35 head) to those in other breeds. 2. For the litter sizes at 21 and 42 weaning days of age, Landrace showed best and was followed by Yorkshire, Duroc and Hampshire in order. 3. Percentages of weaned pigs were 93.5 in Landrace 90.0 in Yorkshire which showed about 1(1% higher than those in the other two breeds. 4. Sows furrowed at 3rd or 4th parity showed better performances for most of the traits studied. 5. Pigs born in spring or fall were superior to those born in summer or winter. The year 1984 in general seemed to be better than any other years included in this analysis.

        키토산 올리고당의 음수내 급여가 육계의 혈액성상, 면역력 및 항산화 효소계에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 키토산올리고당의 음수 내 급여가 따른 육계의 혈액성상, 면역력 및 항산화효소계에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 1일령 Arbor Acre종 약 2만 8천수를 대조구와 키토산 음수 급여구로 나누어 5주 동안 실시하였다. 육계의 혈액 성상에서 Glucose의 농도는 대조구보다 키토산올리고당 음수 급여구가 유의적으로 감소하였으나, Triglyceride, Total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol 및 LDL-cholesterol 농도에는 대조구와키토산올리고당 음수 급여구간에 차이를 보이지 않았고 간 손상에 대한 인자인 GOT농도는 시험구간에 차이가 없었지만 GPT농도는 대조구보다 키토산올리고당 음수 급여구가 유의적으로 감소하였다(P<0.05). 혈액 내 면역글로블린 농도 중, IgG 농도는 대조구와 키토산올리고당 음수 급여구간에 차이가 없었으나, IgM 농도는 대조구보다 키토산올리고당 음수 급여구가 유의적으로 증가하였다(P<0.05). 항산화력과 SOD의 농도는 시험구간에 차이가 없었으며, Catalase와 Glutathione peroxidase의 농도는 대조구보다 키토산올리고당 음수 급여구가 유의적으로 증가하였다(P<0.05). 따라서, 키토올리고당의 음수 급여로 인해 육계의 당대사, 면역기능 및 1차 항산화 효소계의 활성을 증가시켜 육계의 강건성에 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 보여주었다. The study was conducted to the effect of inclusion of chitosan-oligosaccharide in drinking water on the blood component profile, immunity and antioxidative enzyme of broiler chickens. A total of 28,000 broiler chickens (Arbor Acre) at 1 days of age were fed the commercial diet until 35 days of age, the treatment divided into two treatments, normal control group and chitosan-oligosaccharide in drinking water group. In concentration of glucose, treatment was significantly decreased than control (P<0.05), but not statistically different on the Triglyceride, Total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol in the Blood component profile of broiler chicks. The concentration of glutamic oxalacetic transaminase (GOT) was statistically different but the concentration of glutamic pyruvate transaminase (GPT) was significantly decreased in treatment fed chitosan-oligosaccharide than control (P<0.05). Immunoglobullins in the blood, concentration of IgG was not significantly different among control and treatment but concentration of IgM was significantly increased in fed chitosan-oligosaccharide than control (P<0.05). Antioxidant and super oxide dismutase (SOD) was not different among control and treatment and concentration of catalase and glutathione peroxidase were significantly increased in fed chitosan-oligosaccharide than control (P<0.05).

        항균활성 천연물질을 이용한 반추위 메탄저감용 친환경 첨가제 개발

        본 연구는 천연물질에서 유래한 반추위 메탄저감용 친환경 첨가제 개발을 위해 각기 다른 종균을 이용하여 발효한 세신 추출물의 항균활성, 항산화활성 및 in vitro 반추위 발효시험을 체계적으로 실시하였다. 접종된 균주들의 성장효율을 알아보기 위해 실시한 생균수측정 결과 L. curvatus NJ40 균주에서 유의적으로 높은 균주성장을 나타냈다(p<0.05). 항균활성측정 결과는 대조구 대비 L. curvatus NJ40 및 L. plantarum NJ45 균주와 발효된 세신 추출물이 병원균에 대한 항균효과를 나타내는 것으로 조사되었다. In vitro 반추위 발효실험에 세신 및 발효 세신 추출물을 적용한 결과, 휘발성 지방산 생성량 대비 반추위 메탄 저감효과가 나타났다. 특히 반추위 미생물 활력 및 사료이용 효율을 대표할 수 있는 휘발성 지방산 생성효율에 대한 부정적 효과 없이, 오히려 휘발성지방산 생성효율을 향상시키면서 반추위 메탄 저감효과를 가져올 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. The present study was conducted to investigate effective starter culture to improve biological activity of Asarum sieboldii. Antibacterial activity, antioxidant activity and reduction of enteric rumen methane production were used as criterions for biological activity. Ground A. sieboldii was added in MRS broth at 10% (w/v) and fermented by different starter cultures. Weissella confusa NJ28, Weissella cibaria NJ33, Lactobacillus curvatus NJ40, Lactobacillus brevis NJ42, Lactobacillus plantarum NJ45 and Lactobacillus sakei NJ48 were used for starter culture strains. Each starter culture was inoculated with 1% (v/v) ratio and fermentation was performed at 30℃ with agitation (150 rpm) for 48 h. MRS broth for the control was employed without starter culture. Then the fermentation growth was dried and extracted using ethyl alcohol. The growth of starter culture was detected at NJ40, NJ42, NJ45 and NJ48. And the highest cell growth was found in NJ40. Antibacterial activity against to Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogens, Mannheimia haemolytica and Salmonella gallinarum were observed in the extract fermented by NJ40 and NJ45. All treatments showed antioxidant activities, however, there were no significant differences (p>0.05). In in vitro rumen fermentation, negative control (NC) and positive control (PC) were assigned to without extract and with non-fermented A. sieboldii extract. Significant suppression of gas productions were detected in positive control and treatments compared to negative control (p<0.05). However, total volatile fatty acid production was not suppressed. Significant methane reduction per total volatile fatty acid productions were found in positive control and NJ45 treatment (p<0.05). The present study suggested a fermentation of A. sieboldii using NJ45 strain could improve its biological activity and make possible for its use in bio additive for enteric rumen methane mitigation without suppression of animal productivity.
