Trade-off through the fan selection process, it is reasonable to set the PWM control to between 33∼58% in order to simultaneously satisfy the heat dissipation performance of the sub-rack internal board and equipment noise standard. The air temperature difference could be estimated to be 00℃.

Electronic equipment mounted on ships must satisfy the noise standards in consideration of the operators environment. Therefore, it is difficult to use an excessive blower fan to cool the board inside the electronic equipment, and an optimal design that satisfies both cooling and noise is required. In this study, the heat dissipation performance was analyzed numerically according to the design of the heat dissipation duct at the rear of the equipment, and the optimal shape was derived by making a prototype and performing noise measurement tests.

In this research, to analyze the slipstream effect of a compact car in the wake of a large vehicle, flow visualization for the reduced vehicle models in the wind tunnel and flow analysis by means of CFD are carried out. Both results of flow visualization experiment as well as CFD simulation are then analyzed and compared. As a result, the slipstream effect due to the decrease of relative pressure in the wake of a leading vehicle are experimentally verified at a cubic compact car behind a large vehicle in the operating condition of . Therefore it is expected the drag reduction can be achieved by means of slipstreaming technique between a large blunt vehicle and a cubic compact car in the highway transportation.
