As the interest on the air pollution is gradually rising up at home and abroad, automotive and fuel researchers have been working on the exhaust emission reduction from vehicles through a lot of approaches, which consist of new engine design, innovative after-treatment systems, using clean fuels and fuel quality improvement. However, a study that the fuel quality affect on exhaust emission from vehicle. FT-IR spectroscopy, useful technology for simultaneous and continuous measurement of the various components of the automotive exhaust gas, is utilized to a few unregulated exhaust emissions measurement of the irregular gasoline fuel including the regulated exhaust emissions. This research shows that the irregular gasoline fuel had some problem that cause of ambient pollution, power decreasing, fallen to safety and trouble of engine. Also, based on these problem, this paper discusses the influence of gasoline quality on automotive exhaust emissions.

It is known that EGR is general technology reducing NOx emitted from the internal combustion engine. Many studies concerning NOx reduction have been performed as SCR, EGR and etc. EGR system reduces NOx and increases particulate matter, this phenomenon is said trade-off relationship. In this study, we have performed experimental study that EGR system was applied to construction machine to confirm emission trend by different EGR ratio. This EGR is controled electrically and accepted cooler using water. CPC to measure particle number was used and the sample gas directly was extracted from the tailpipe. We estimated emission on several conditions that have three engine speed, partial load and different EGR ratio. NOx have a trend of decreasement by increasing EGR ratio on same engine speed. But PM and PN have the trend of increasement by increasing EGR ratio on same engine speed.

As the interest on the air pollution is gradually rising up at home and abroad, automotive and fuel researchers have been working on the exhaust emission reduction from vehicles through a lot of approaches, which consist of new engine design, innovative after-treatment systems, using clean (eco-friendly alternative) fuels and fuel quality improvement. This research has brought forward two main issues : exhaust emission and PM particle emissions of gasoline vehicle. Exhaust emission and PM(particulate matter) particle of automotive had many problem that cause of ambient pollution, health effects. The main particulate fraction of automotive exhaust emission consists of small particles. Because of their small size, inhaled particles may easily penetrate deep into the lungs. The rough surfaces of these particles make it easy for them to bind with other toxins in the environment, thus increasing the hazards of particle inhalation. Based on the oxygenated fuel types (MTBE, Bio-ETBE, Bio-ethanol, Bio-butanol), this paper discussed the influence of oxygen contents on gasoline vehicle exhaust and nano-particle emissions. Also, this paper assessed exhaust emission characteristics using 2 type test mode. The test modes were CVS-75 and HWFET mode.
Characteristics of Emission and Fuel Economy of Fuel Additives in the Domestic Market

In the past, drivers bought a fuel additives to treat a combustion chambers or injector nozzles for carbon or gum deposit at market. But, nowadays, as raised cost of fuel for a vehicle the consumers also start focusing on a function of fuel additives that increases fuel economy of one. Some fuel additive manufacturers and agents advertise that their goods make a car it's initial state. This paper shows data for 3 years that were acquired during test for registration of an additive in domestic. The data were sorted according to kind of vehicle, kind of fuel, test mode, CO, HC, NOx, PM, total emission, fuel economy and accumulated mileage. And than by using simple linear regression analysis changes according to accumulated mileage was displayed. Normal distribution and histogram of rate of increase and decrease were displayed. the analyzed data indicated that a fuel additive maintain and make a car the first state of one but can't make a car be batter than initial the one.

However, a study that the fuel quality affect on exhaust emission from vehicle. This research shows that the irregular gasoline fuel had some problem that cause of ambient pollution, power decreasing, fallen to safety and trouble of engine. At the cold-start operating condition, the irregular gasoline fuel is happened to the unregulated exhaust emissions. Also, based on these problem, this paper discusses the influence of gasoline fuel quality on automotive exhaust emissions.
대형디젤엔진용 Metal Foam Filter의 미세입자 특성

Fine particles have the greatest demonstrated impact on human health. Their small size allows them to get deep into the lungs and from there they can reach or trigger inflammation in the lung, blood vessels or the heart, and perhaps other organs. Recently many studies have been performed about fine particles, specially nano particle less than 100㎚ size. In this study, we have performed experimental study on SFC reduction characteristics of emission, specially PM and PN(nano particle) and confirmed whether SFC have an advantage of reduction of particulate matter. EEPS measured the sample gas directly extracted from the tailpipe and used first dilutor between tailpipe and EEPS. We found that SFC reduced PM about 49% and PN about 62% and have a high reduction performance of nano particles.

This research has brought forward two main issues : whether PM emissions should be regulated for diesel and gasoline vehicles and whether gasoline and LPG powered vehicles can be further neglected from PM emission inventories. Also, this paper assesses Nano particle emission characteristics using 3 type test mode. This test mode is CVS-75, HWFET, NEDC mode.

This durability test was performed on about 12ℓ, 6 cylinder, Heavy Duty Engine satisfied with EURO 3 Emission Standard. This Study was conducted to evaluate engine oil property and engine performance for the heavy duty diesel engine. Test procedure and method was in accordance with modified CEC L-57-T97(OM441LA) Method. In this study, Engine power, Blowby Gas. A_F, TAN, KV and Metal Components were presented to evaluate relation with engine oil property changes and engine performance. Wear metal components were generally increased and Fe, Cu was sharply increased more than 1000%. Addictive metal components were generally increased about 20%. TAN, KV show a increasing trend on the whole. but Engine performance did not change. This results mean that property changes did not make effect on engine performance because those were not as enough as to affect engine performance.
