        Sustainable management as a new management paradigm is getting attention at large these days. Today, companies are recognized as one of the crucial member of our society and demanded to have a social responsibility, which leads to the harmonious business activities with non-financial values of social responsibilities beyond traditional profit-driven activities. However, the traditional research on the operations strategies still puts its focus on the economic outcomes and researches on the appropriate paradigm of operations strategies to the age of sustainable management are not common. This research tries to identify a good paradigm of operations strategies appropriate to the age of sustainable management through an analysis of case studies on the paradigm of operations strategies adopted by several global companies. The research confirmed through the case studies that the various learning activities in a company have positive effects on its economic performances and social responsibilities. The economic performances also seems to have good effects on the social role of companies through which we could notice the paradigm shift in the operations strategies of many companies struggling to keep competitive superiority over others by accumulating social responsibilities next to economic profits. Consequently, the harmony between economic performances and social responsibilities appears to have good effects on the business outcomes. These results show us the environmental changes from old operations strategies paradigm of keeping competitive superiority by pursuing only economic performances to a new paradigm of operations strategies broadening their role in the social responsibilities, which are more appropriate ways to meet the various interests than those of the past and, based on it, getting competitive superiority over other companies. Accordingly, this study suggests a new paradigm of operations strategies in the current fierce competitive business environments that could achieve differentiated advantages and low-costs by broadening a company's capabilities to social responsibilities built on the solid economic performances. Today's business environments are demanding that companies should carry out their social responsibilities. This is the time that companies should not only pursue economic profits but carry out social responsibilities as well so that they have to concern a operations strategy which can meet the needs from various interest groups beyond their usual customers.

        The purpose of this thesis is to present an approach for successfully leading an integrated management system which encompasses the quality, environment and health & safety management system. These are cornerstone systems in many of the most successful domestic companies in Korea today. In particular, this thesis intended to present an integrated management system based on the process approach method to solve problems from implementing quality, environment and health & safety management system. This thesis deals with a case study on the establishment of an integrated system for quality, environment and health & safety by utilizing a process approach of H company and presents an approach to establish such a system of integrated management by utilizing a process approach method as below. First, the establishment of integrated management system for quality, environment and health & safety. Second, detailed clarification of process objectives by utilizing a process approach method when such an integrated management system is established. Third, a methodology for continuous improvement through process monitoring. Of course, there are several ways to achieve a company's goals and objectives but we must strive for such an integrated management system as described herein. This process approach methodology must be imbedded into our company culture in order to sustain a consistent long term competitive advantage in today's most competitive international marketplace.
