In this study, the putative target genes of the Arc two-component system of the rumen bacterium Mannheimia succiniciproducens were determined by analyzing the transcriptome of the ArcA overexpression strain and by the in silico scanning of the entire genome sequence with the position weight matrix of the ArcA binding sequence developed for Escherichia coli. The majority of 79 repressed genes were involved in energy metabolism and carbohydrate transport and metabolism, while the majority of 82 induced genes were involved in hypothetical or unknown functions. Our results suggest that the Arc system in M. succiniciproducens has a specific function that differs from that in E. coli.

According to the analysis on the circumstances surrounding the construction of the New Southeastern International Airport, constructing the airport should be carried out for the purpose of strengthening the national and regional competitiveness. For developing as a major global airport, a study on developing hinterlands as an airport city should be examined simultaneously with the plan of constructing an airport. Because an international airport effects greatly the economic development of its hinterlands during the global era, the national government should consider to adopt the two-airports system through the construction of New Southeastern International Airport. In the case of foreign countries, it is not common to designate one hub-airport system. Rather than, it is more important for an international airport to play its differentiated roles of creating the sufficient airline demand in each region. Since the 21st century, an airport becomes a major factor in strengthening the competitiveness of firms and urban development. Rather than as a traffic node, an airport can be developed as a center of an aircity creating economic activities and of an aerotropolis forming industrial clusters and residential districts along the traffic corridors beyond its boundaries. An aerotropolis can expand its influences to 100㎞ from the center of an airport. Fostering the positive relationship between the development of an airport and that of its hinterland"s economy, the hinterlands of airport should have the economic structure creating the sufficient air demands. Also, an airport should create a variety of jobs and contribute to vitalize hinterland"s economy. The model of win-win development between an international airport and its hinterlands is on the premise that the creation of air demand results in restructuring the multi-modal traffic networks, which induces the value of land use to be enhanced. As the result, companies and housings would be agglomerated near by, which contributes to create the air demand. Mirang has 13 national industrial complexes and 80 general industrial complexes near by. In terms of the air demand created by hinterlands" economy, Mirang is the best location to New Southeastern International Airport. Under the premise, this study suggests the strategies on the win-win development of the New Southeastern International Airport and its hinterlands as an important global airport with playing an alternative role to Incheon International Airport.
