한국인의 Epstein-Barr Virus 항체 양성률 변화양상에 대한 분석: 단일기관 연구

Purpose: Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection is related to infectious mononucleosis or nasopharyngeal cancer, and its epidemiology may change according to the socioeconomic development of communities. This study aimed to evaluate the recent epidemiology of EBV seropositive rate in Korea. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed EBV serology test results obtained from a part of clinical care at Samsung Medical Center, Seoul, South Korea, from January 2000 to December 2017. Results: The EBV seropositive rate in 26,527 subjects during the study period was 81.0% (21,485/26,527): 44.4% (2,716/6,122) in subjects aged 0-9 years, 75.8% (2,077/2,739) in those aged 10-19 years, and 94.5% (16,692/17,666) in those aged ≥20 years. The EBV seropositive rate decreased from 89.4% (8,592/9,616) in 2000-2008 to 76.2% (12,893/16,911) in 2009-2017 (P<0.001). Especially, the EBV seropositive rate in subjects aged 0-19 years significantly decreased from 2000-2008 to 2009-2017 (0-9 years, 62.8% [1,172/1,866] in 2000-2008 and 36.3% [1,544/4,256] in 2009-2017; 10-19 years, 83.8% [745/858] in 2000-2008 and 70.8% (1,332/1,881) in 2009-2017) (P<0.001). Conclusions: The EBV seropositive rate in children has decreased in the last 20 years. As the age of patients with primary EBV infection increased, there is a need for interest in clinical manifestation, such as infectious mononucleosis, in adolescents and young adults.

The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of extract and its fraction of Daucus carota var. sativa flower were studied in vitro. Extract and ethyl acetate fraction, butanol fraction of carrot flower showed radical scavenging effects on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). We also investigated the effect of extract and ethyl acetate fraction, butanol fraction of carrot flower on NO production in a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated murine macrophage RAW 264.7 cells. Extract and its fraction of carrot flower significantly inhibited NO production and this inhibitory action was not due to the cytotoxicity. This study suggests that extract and ethyl acetate fraction, butanol fraction of Daucus carota var. sativa flower could contribute to the chemoprevention and therapy of oxidative stress and inflammation.

The major therapeutic human serum albumin was purified into three batches by cold ethanol precipitation method and albumin were studied for the stability. In storage over 39 months, the pH of albumin was slowly acidified from pH 7.0 to pH 6.8. The turbidity was not changed. However, the heme content in albumin was progressively increased with time in storage. Therefore, the color of albumin changed after 1-year of storage. The polymer and aggregates was investigated by HPLC techniques. The HPLC analysis are compared with the polymerization. The polymer form of albumin was increased during storage after the preparation. It is suggested that the denaturation of albumin is not dependent in temperature but dependent increased in fatty acids during storage. The results passed all the internal specifications at the albumin during the tentative expiration.

This study was performed to investigate the ecosystem service patterns in relation to climate change acceleration utilizing big data analysis. This study aimed to use big data analysis as one of the network of views to identify convergent thinking in two fields: climate change and ecosystem service. The keywords were analysed to ascertain if there were any differences in the perceiving problems, policy direction, climate change implications, and regional differences. In addition, we examined the research keywords of each continent, the centre of ecosystem service research, and the topics to be referred to in domestic research. The results of the analysis are as follows: First, the keyword centrality of climate change is similar to the detailed indicators of The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) regulations, content, and non-material ecosystem services. Second, the cross-analysis of terms in two journals showed a difference in value-oriented point; the Ecosystem Service Journal identified green infrastructure as having economic value, whereas the Climate Change Journal perceives water, forest, carbon, and biodiversity as management topics. The Climate Change Journal, but not the former, focuses on future predictions. Third, the analysis of the research topics according to continents showed that water and soil are closely related to the economy, and thus, play an important role in policy formulation. This disparity is due to differences in each continent's environmental characteristics, as well as economic and policy issues. This fact can be used to refer to the direction of research on ecosystem services in Korea. Consistent with the recent trend of expanding research regarding the impacts of climate change, it is necessary to study strategies to scientifically predict and respond to the negative effects of climate change.
