This study aimed to examine in detail the number of participants by region, the content of prayer, what they gained through prayer, and the satisfaction level of participants in the ‘Diamond Sutra prayer’, and to examine the level of satisfaction of participants in the Diamond Sutra prayer. For this purpose, a survey was conducted by directly collecting questionnaires from 3,073 Diamond Sutra prayer participants four times in July, August, September, and October. As a result of the analysis, first, the participants’ regions were Gyeongsang region (45.2%), Seoul metropolitan region (42.5%), Chungcheong region (6.4%), Gangwon region (3.2%), Jeolla region (2.3%), and overseas region (0.2%)., followed by the Jeju region (0.2%). Second, the contents of prayer were in the following order: health (26.6%), wish (20.6%), wealth (18.o%), and enlightenment (13.1%). Third, the things gained through prayer were in the order of health (23.8%), enlightenment (17.1%), wish (14.0%), and other (13.4%). Fourth, there were slight differences in satisfaction with prayer participation by region. Overall, the ratio of ‘very satisfied’ and ‘satisfied’ was high, and satisfaction with the August conference was the highest, while satisfaction with the October conference showed a tendency to slightly decrease. Looking at satisfaction by age, although there were slight differences for each age, the overall ratio of ‘very satisfied’ and ‘satisfied’ was high in all age groups. Analyzing the monthly responses, we can see that satisfaction with the August conference was the highest, while satisfaction with the October conference tended to be slightly lower. The results of this study are expected to provide practical information about participants in temple-based Diamond Sutra prayers and provide basic data on factors to be considered when planning Diamond Sutra prayers in the future. 본 연구는 ‘금강경 봉찬기도’ 참여자들을 대상으로 참여자들의 지역별 참여자 수, 기도의 내용, 기도를 통해 얻은 것, 그리고 만족도에 대한 내용을 구체적으로 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 3073명의 금강경 기도 참여자를 대상으로 7월, 8월, 9월, 10월 총 4차례 질문지를 직접 수집하는 방법으로 설문조사를 진행하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 경상지역(45.2%), 수도권지역(42.5%), 충청지역(6.4%), 강원지역(3.2%), 전라지역(2.3%), 해외지역(0.2%), 제주지역 (0.2%) 순으로 참여하였다. 둘째, 기도의 내용은 건강(26.6%), 소원(20.6%), 재물(18.o%), 깨달음(13.1%)의 순으로 나타났다. 셋째, 기도를 통해 얻은 것은 건강(23.8%), 깨달음(17.1%), 소원(14.0%), 기타(13.4%)의 순으로 나타났다. 넷째, 기도참여의 만족도는 각 지역별로 미세한 편차가 있었다. 전반적으로 ‘매우 만족’과 ‘만족’의 비율이 높게 나타났으며 8월 법회의 만족도가 가장 높았고 10월 법회의 만족도가 조금 낮아진 경향을 볼 수 있다. 연령별 만족도를 살펴보면, 각 연령별로 미세한 편차는 있지만 모든 연령대에서 전반적으로 ‘매우 만족’과 ‘만족’의 비율이 높게 나타났다. 월별 응답을 분석해보면, 8월 법회의 만족도가 가장 높게 나타났고 10월 법회의 만족도가 조금 낮아진 경향을 볼 수 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 사찰 기반으로 이루어지는 금강경 기도 참여자에 대한 실제적인 정보를 제공하고 향후 금강경 기도 기획 시 고려해야 할 요소에 대한 기초자료를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
