        PVC is one of the common thermoplastic polymers well mixed up with other plasticizer, stabilizer, and additive agent. It is also a highly energy efficient material widely used in many industries related with vehicles, accessories, furniture, packaging, pipes, wallpaper, wire coating, and so on. Since it has been reported that VCM, the raw material of PVC, could be related with high of bio-carcinogenicity in human, however, the level of residual VCM not only in the polymer resins but also in the environment have been regulated in many countries. There are several testing methods for the determination of residual VCM in the polymer resins as well as environment samples, including those by ISO, ASTM, EPA, KS, and other governmental guidelines. However, it is still difficult to measure residual VCM because of its high vapor pressure. No suitable commercial reference material for VCM is another problem. To establish and develop more reliable test method for residual VCM, this paper introduces several typical standard methods for residual VCM testing in Korea and other countries.

        This study was performed to investigate background levels of barium (Ba), chromium (Cr) in Korean geological units. Also, the BCR sequential extraction method was conducted to identify chemical distribution of those compounds in Korean geological units and the simple bioavailability extraction test (SBET) was conducted to evaluate bioaccessibility. The soil samples taken from 17 sites were analyzed to survey background levels. The average concentrations and ranges for metals are as follows; Ba: 74.20 (23.25 ~ 171.28), Cr: 26.48 (6.74 ~ 75.89) mg/kg. The BCR sequential extraction method was conducted to identify chemical distributional existence of 2 elements of soils from each geological unit. Cr in soils mainly exist as residual form. However, in case of Ba, ion exchangeble and reducible form were relatively high compared with other metals. SBET bioaccessibility of metals were in the order of Ba (47.6%), Cr (0.8%). The results of speciations, and bioaccessibilities of metals in this study can be used to provide a fundamental data to set soil pollution standards and to evaluate the soil contamination level.

        Polysilsesquioxane-b-Polycaprolactone의 합성과 특성

        Phenyltrichlorosilane과 phenylenediamine을 preamination, 가수분해, 축합반응시켜 융해성이 우수한 ladder형 polyphenylsilsesquioxane (PPSQ)을 제조하였다. PPSQ에 분자량이 조절된 α, ω-hydroxyl polycaprolactone (PCL) prepolymer를 공중합시켜 분자구조가 제어된 polysilsesquioxane-b-polycaprolactone (PPSQ-b-PCL) 공중합체를 제조하였다. PPSQ-b-PCL 공중합체를 ITO glass 위에 코오팅하여 박막을 제조하고 고온에서 PCL segment를 소결시켜 기공의 분산성이 우수한 PPSQ의 박막을 제조하여 그 특성을 측정하였다. 이들의 구조 및 열적 특성은 FT-IR, NMR 및 TGA로 확인하였으며 이들 박막의 모폴로지 및 기공의 분산성은 SEM과 AFM으로 측정하였다. 또한 전기적 특성은 MIM (Metal. Insulator/Metal)방식으로 유전율을 측정하였다. Polyphenylsilsesquioxane-b-polycaprolactone (PPSQ-b-PCL) copolymer, to apply as an interlayer dielectric material, was synthesized from condensation polymerization of α, ω-hydroxyl polycaprolactone (PCL) prepolymer and polyphenylsilsesquioxan (PPSQ). PPSQ was prepared from condensation polymerization of phenyltrichlorosilane and phenylenediamine. PPSQ-b-PCL copolymer was spin-coated on ITO glass and cured in an electric fumace that was equipped with N_2 injection port. By curing of the coated material, sphere-shaped pores was obtained by sintering the PCL segment. The structures of PPSQ-b-PCL, were confirmed by FT-IR and NMR. Their thermal properties were measured by TGA. Morphology, topography, and dielectric constant, according to the contents of PCL in film, were measured by SEM, AFM, and impedance analyzer.
