In this study, we performed motion analysis for ten subjects above 75 in order to analyze lower extremity joint movement patterns during upslope and downslope walking. Spatiotemporal parameters of walking, lower extremity joint movements on sagittal plane and ground reaction force were analyzed and the conclusions are as follows. 1. Cadency, walking velocity and stride length decreased during upslope and downslope walking compared to level walking. They showed significant differences at 10° inclination in upslope walking and at 5° inclination in downslope walking. 2. As for flexion/extension movement of lower extremity joint at HC event during gate cycle, the flexion of knee and hip joint increased during upslope walking and dorsal flexion of ankle was large. Knee joint flexion at TO event decreased as the inclination of upslope walking increased, and it was significantly different compared to level walking. 3. As for anterior/posterior tilt of pelvis, it decreased during downslope walking and increased during upslope walking compared to level walking. 4. At ankle joint, the moments were different depending on the inclination of the ramps. At knee and hip joint, the maximum movements were different depending on the inclination of the ramps. 5. GFR in initial stance phase was higher in downslope walking than in upslope walking, and GFR in late stance phase was higher in upslope walking than in downslope walking.
국내산 수수(Sorghum bicolor) 품종에 따른 전자공여능, 환원력, 항균활성 및 α-glucosidase 저해활성의 비교

수수의 기능성식품으로써 이용 가능성을 조사하기 위해 수수의 70% ethanol 추출물의 전자공여능, 환원력, 총 페놀함량, 총 플라보노이드함량, 항미생물, α-glucosidase 억제활성을 측정하였다. 전자공여능 측정 결과 10 μg/mL 농도에서 메수수, 붉은장목 수수가 94%로 BHT(13%), BHA(74%)보다 월등히 높은 활성을 보였다. 환원력을 측정한 결과 농도가 높아짐에 따라 활성이 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, 수수 22개 품종 중에서 메수수가 0.71의 OD값으로 가장 높은 항산화 활성을 나타내었다. 추출물의 총 페놀 함량은 빗자루수수가 22.9 mg GAE/g로 높은 함량을 나타내었으며, 흰수수가 16.4 mg GAE/g로 가장 낮은 함량을 보였다. 총 플라보노이드 함량은 장목수수가 3.5 mg QE/g로 높은 함량을 보였다. 항미생물 실험 결과 E. coli에서 모든 수수가 활성을 나타내었으며, 특히 시경수수(MIC=8 μg/mL)와 찰(금산)수수(MIC=8 μg/mL)가 뛰어난 활성을 나타내었다. α-Glucosidase 억제활성 측정 결과 붉은장목수수, 목탁수수, 긴장목수수가 98%로 높은 억제율을 보여주었다. Electron donating ability (EDA), reducing power, total phenolic contents, total flavonoid contents, antimicrobial activity, and α-glucosidase inhibitory effects of twenty-two sorghum varieties were examined using ethanol extracts (70%, v/v). The electron donationg abilities (EDA) of Mesusu and Bulgeunjangmoksusu (94% at 10 μg/mL) indicated higher antioxidant activity compared to those of other varieties and standard antioxidants such as BHT (13%) and BHA (74%). The reducing power of Mesusu (OD<SUB>700</SUB>=0.71) suggested higher antioxidant activity, which was dependent on sample concentration. Bitjarususu showed the highest content of total phenolics (22.9 mg GAE/g); however, extracts from Heuinsusu exhibited the lowest content of total phenolics (16.4 mg GAE/g). Jangmoksusu showed the highest total flavonolic contents (3.5 mg QE/g), and Sigyeongsusu and Chal (GS) susu displayed the most antibacterial activity (MIC=8 μg/mL) against Escherichia coli. Extracts of Bulgeunjangmoksusu, Moktaksusu, and Ginjangmoksusu showed the highest α-glucosidase inhibitory effect (98%) at the concentration of 5 μg/mL.

This experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of GA₃ and cold stratification as presown treatments on seed germination, seedling emergence and final survival rate of Acanthopanax senticosus Maxim. Seeds collected 145 days after-ripening period followed by 10 days of cold stratification was effective in promoting germination. Dehisced seeds treated with 500 ppm of GA₃ for 3 days was also effective in promoting germination. However, seedling emergence rate remained low in both treatment. Seedling emergence rate was higher for seeds germinated in Heungnong-Bio and Klasman-Bio than in vermiculite, perlite, vermiculite-perlite mixture, or sand. After 40 days of cold stratification, seedling emergence was significantly higher in the 500 ppm GA₃ treatment than nontreatment for both dehisced and non-dehisced seeds. However, for dehisced seeds, GA₃ treatment before sowing resulted in decreased fmal seedling survival rate.
