모든 제조공업에서는 제품의 질을 미리 알고자한다. 특히,실과 직물간의 공정에서 원사인 실의 역학적 성질은 즉시 실험해서 알 수 있으나, 직물은 제조후 평가할 수 밖에 없었다. 본 연구는 실의 역학적 성질을 알때 직물을 제직하지 않고 그 직물의 성질 및 태를 어떻게 예측할 수 있을까를 검토하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. We previously want to know the quality of products in manufacturing industry. Especially, we can directly know mechanical properties of yams by experiment. However, in order to know mechanical properties of fabrics, we should estimate these properties only after manufacturing fabrics. Therefore, in this study, we investigated how mechanical properties of yams affect the properties of fabrics. As results, we tried to anticipate physical properties and hand value of the fabrics.

직물의 구성인자 가운데 섬유의 굵기, 피복도, 조직도 및 가공방법은 직물의 물리적 성질에 깊은 관계가 있다고 생각된다. 직물의 태에 관계하는 여러 가지 특성 중에서 인장성, 굽힘성, 전단성, 압축성 및 표면특성은 대단히 상관이 깊다. HESC에서 제안한 16가지 특성들이 직물의 구성인자와 어떤 관계에 있는가를 검토한다. It is considered that physical properties of fabric relate with Diameter, Cover factor, Fabric weave and Finishing among the fabric structural parameters. Such mechanical properties as Tensile, Bending, Shearing, Compression and Surface properties are also correlated with fabric hand. Therefore, in this study, we attempted to reveal the relationship between 16 mechanical properties proposed by HESC and fabric structural parameters.

We have often heard the troubles that the yarn of fabric made of Brazilian cotton wouldn't bleach enough, although they pass through the same process, in comparision with others. About the cause, according to one opinion it is due to influence of iron content but another report proves the result that it can't be judged to be so. at this point, in this paper, the bleaching test has been studied in th meaning of comparising raw cotton with whiteness after bleaching and eye-decision with whiteness. From the result, it has become clear that the wrong bleaching of bleaching yarn have hardly something, to do with the color of raw yarn and, also, I think, it may be, due to an errors by the eye-decision of the sample-preparation for measuring color that the result of eye-decision and Judd's Whiteness don't show up the good agrement each other.
