Purpose: This study analyzes the architectural characteristics of the Glass House, located on the eastern coast of Seopjikoji, as a commercial facility with a gallery, cafe, and restaurant. The building faces toward the beautiful ocean and Seongsan Ilchulbong. We would like to examine how Tadao Andos unique solution takes advantage of the local characteristics and surrounding environment of Jeju Island for the nature-friendly architecture. Method: This study investigates architectural books, previous studies, and internet articles related to the Glass House. We will review carefully the drawings of site plan, floor plans, sections, and elevations. We visited the Glass House to analyze the Glass House through field surveys of the building and interviews with users. Result: In the Glass House, the organic relationship among architecture, nature, and human beings is pursued. The strategy for the Glass House to blend with nature is to lower itself in the form of a horizontal building for the harmony with the surrounding sea. The exposed concrete box on the first floor resembles a rock stone, and the light and transparent glass box on the second floor on top of it is absorbed into the sky. The glass windows provide open view to nature. It looks like a sculpture work, by its simple form to constitute boxes in different angle and materials using only the exposed concrete and glass, We meet many dramatic moments in the Glass House by contrast of light and closed wall and opening frame inviting beautiful natural scenery, when we move to experience the building.
FDS를 이용한 목재 기둥 화염 전파에 대한 수치 모사

Flame spread over a wooden dowel array is numerically analyzed to validate the applicability of simulation on a study and discover the fundamental mechanism of wildland fire by using FDS. The shape of flame spread varies, namely continuous, discrete, or quenching, based on spacing distances and wind speeds. The wind promotes mixing between combustion products and the cold ambient air for high wind speeds, leading to convective cooling. The flame is exposed to the cold ambient air for a large distance before reaching the next dowel, and the increased distance reduces conductive and radiative heat transfer to the next dowel for ignition. The simulation results show a similar tendency of the flame shape for varied spacing and wind speeds to a previous experimental study.

주요 소나무종의 수관화 확산 유무를 분석하기 위해 WFDS를 이용하여 수관화 전이를 모사하였다. 풍속과 수관 간 거리를 변화시키면서 수관화를 모사하여 기상 및 연료 조건의 수관화 전이에의 영향을 확인하였다. 대기 조건은 주요 산불 발생이 가능한 3, 4월의 30년 평년값을 기준값으로 사용하였다. 풍속의 증가에 따라서 수관화의 강도, 전파 속도가 증가하고, 화염이 수관으로 착화하는 시기가 짧아졌다. 거리 변화의 효과는 풍속 및 수종 조건에 따라 복잡하게 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해서, 물리 기반 모델을 사용한 전산유체역학 모사 도구인 WFDS가 우리나라 주요 소나무종 수관화 전이와 확산에 관한 연구에 적용 가능성이 있음을 확인하였다. 하지만, 본 연구에서는 제한된 수종에 관한 연구만 수행되었기 때문에, 추후 보다 다양한 수종과 국내 기상 조건을 이용한 보완 연구를 수행하여 WFDS의 국내 산불 연구에의 적용 가능성의 추가 검증이 필요할 것이다. The crown fire of various pine trees was investigated using a wildland–urban interface fire dynamics simulator (WFDS). The effects of wind speeds and the spatial distances between fuels on crown fire ignition and spread were investigated. The average 30-year values of atmospheric conditions in March and April were used as the reference conditions to represent the climatic conditions for the wildfire season. As the wind speed increases, crown fire initiation is promoted, and the intensity and spread rate of the crown fire increase. The effects of the spatial distance on the crown fire depend on the wind speed and fuel conditions. The results show that a computational fluid dynamics tool using physics-based models, such as the WFDS, can predict the crown fire ignition and spread behaviors for domestic pine trees. However, further studies are required for other vegetation and domestic atmospheric conditions to validate the applicability of the WFDS on domestic fuels.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors affecting the career identity of nursing students. Method: Subjects were 313 nursing students in Daegu. Consent from teachers and students were arbitrarily obtained. Mean, standard deviation, and regression determinations utilized SPSS version 12.0. Results: Career identity score of subjects was 31.79±5.78 on basis of 56. Factors identified to be influential to career identity included time of career decision, self-evaluated career performance, satisfaction with clinical practice and college admittance. The influence of the factors on career identity was rated as 64.1% that is high value. Conclusions: The identified factors are important in determining career identity of nursing students. Further studies are needed to generalize these results and examine widely affecting variables of career identity.
안도 다다오 지중 미술관의 건축 어휘 및 공간 구성적 특성

The Chichu Art Museum shows Tadao Ando’s universal design languages such as a harmony with the surrounding nature, blending of western modern architecture and eastern traditional architecture, composition of spaces emphasizing geometrical axis and shape, marvelous spaces developed by the exposed concrete and light, and providing various spatial experiences created by phenomenological architectural concept. The distinctive feature is that it maximizes the harmony with surrounding nature by placing all spaces in the underground and blending into the earth. It creates dramatic scenes with contrast of light by incorporating natural light in the underground spaces including courtyards and exhibition halls. Moreover, it has a strong organic relationship between architecture and art works by specifically designing the optimized spaces for artists who use light as a crucial element in their works such as Walter de Maria, James Turrell, and Claude Monet.

The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for nursing intervention in patient undergoing angiocardiography. Method: The subjects of this study were 60 patients undergoing angiocardiography. The data were analyzed using mean, percentage and pearson correlation Coefficient. Result 1) The mean score of the affective stress(anxiety) was 48.00±12.24 and behavioral stress was 1.98±1.97. The mean score of the physiologic stress(vital sign) was systolic pressure 124.10 ±17.72, diastolic pressure 79.71±12.68, pulse: 81.03±12.16, respiration: 21.21±1.40 2) The mean score of the pain was 1.40±0.67. 3) There was a significant positive correlation between stress and pain. Conclusion The result of this study show that stress is very important factor that effect on the pain therefore it will be considered stress in patient undergoing angiocardiography.<br/> <br/> <br/> <br/>
