LED 조명 기구에 적용하는 LED PKG의 모양과 특성에 따라 열전달 효과가 다름을 실험을 통해 증명한다. 다양한 형태의 조명기구에 PKG를 적용하기 위해서는 PKG 각 특성에 따른 열전달 구조를 확인하고 기구불과 결합시 열전달 효과가 변화하므로 이에 맞는 설계를 함으로써 방열 효과를 높이고 조명 기구의 효율과 신뢰성에도 효과적임을 설명한다.

LED 조명 기구 개발시 설계 검증을 위한 시제품 제작에 쾌속 조형 방법을 이용한 사례를 들어 활용성을 설명한다. 재질과 색상, 조형 방식에 따른 각각의 공차를 적용함으로써 조명 기구 각 부품의 특성에 부합되는 부품의 제작이 가능해 빠른 시간과 저비용으로 기구의 구조적인 특성 및 광학적 특성을 검증할 수 있음을 보이고 사례연구를 위해 형광등 및 백열등 대체형 조명 기구, 20W 무접점 등기구를 보이고 장단점을 설명한다.
형광체층 위치에 따른 LED 패키지의 열 특성에 관한 연구

In this paper, we studied for the thermal property LED package depending on the amount of phosphor and position of phosphor layer. The white light was released by energy conversion of phosphor from the blue to yellow range light. However, the heat was also generated according to the quantum efficiency of phosphor leading to the increment of internal temperature of LED package. When the thermal property of LED package was investigated by varying the phosphor concentration, the temperatures of packages with 50 and 100wt% of phosphor were increased by 17 and 19.2℃, respectively compared to the package without phosphor. Also, the heat characteristic was evaluated by changing the phosphor positions such as precipitation, dispersion, and reverse precipitation. In the LED package fabricated with a precipitation layer, the temperatures of upper and lower part were 70.1 and 64.0℃ and their temperature difference was 5.9℃. In the case of LED package with dispersion layer, the temperatures of upper and lower part were 77.2 and 63.0℃ and the temperature difference was 14. 2℃. The package with reverse precipitation layer showed the highest (91.4℃) and lowest (62.1℃) temperatures because the heat was not effectively transferred from phosphor layer to LED chip due to long distance between them.
굴절률이 다른 실리콘 봉지재의 봉지 방법에 따른 UV-A LED의 광 특성에 관한 연구

Optical characteristics including the radiant flux and viewing angle of UV LEDs were investigated according to both silicone encapsulants with different refractive indexes and lens shapes. Lead frame was fabricated using the enhanced heat dissipation characteristics with a heat slug structure and the reflector based on EMC(Epoxy Mold Compound) material. Four types of lens shapes were designed and their optical characteristics depending on the refractive index of silicone encapsulants were evaluated. The maximum radiant flux can be achieved when the height of lens are 1.32mm and 1.08mm for silicone encapsulants with low and high refractive indexes, respectively. Depending on the encapsulating method, the viewing angle changes from 148.9° to 130.2° for low refractive index and from 145.3° to 136.8° for high refractive index. As a result, it is found that the optical characteristics of UV LEDs can be controled through both encapsulating method and the refractive index of encapsulants.
