본 연구에서는 국가수준 학업성취도 평가 결과에 기반한 개별 학생의 학업성취 향상 지표를 산출하는 방안과 통계모형을 탐색하였다. 개별 학생의 학업성취 향상 지표의 산출방안으로 시간에 따른 향상률을 고려하는 방안과 초기수준에 따른 향상률을 고려하는 두 가지 방안을 제안하고, 방안별로 세 가지 통계모형, 즉, 학생 및 학교 변인을 통제하지 않은(기초) 모형, 학생 변인을 통제한 모형, 학생 및 학교변인을 모두 통제한 모형을 제안하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면, 학업성취 향상 지표를 산출하는 방안에 따라 산출값에 큰 차이가 나타났지만, 통계모형에 따라서는 산출값의 차이가 크지 않았다. 또한 학업성취 향상 지표를 통하여 교과별 향상 특성도 파악할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 제안한 학업성취 향상 지표는 개별 학생에게 학업성취에 대한 정보를 제공할 뿐만 아니라, 교수ㆍ학습 활동, 교육과정 개선, 교육정책의 수립 등에도 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. In Korea, recent studies have been conducted on capturing students' academic growth. This study first explored the methods and statistical models to produce an individual student's academic progress index based on the results of National Assessment of Educational Achievement, and then the implications of the different student's academic progress indexes were discussed. To produce an individual student's academic progress index, two methods were suggested; one is using a student's growth rate and the other is using a student growth rate conditional on a student's initial academic status. Also, for each method, three different statistical models of the unconditional model, model containing a student variable, and model with student and school variables were suggested and then compared. This study found that the different methods had a great effect on a student's academic progress index rather than different statistical models. Futhermore, it was found that students' academic progress was varied across different subjects. The student's academic progress indexes suggested in this study can be applied to teaching and learning activities, curriculum improvement, and policy development as well as providing students and teachers with customized information.

자료에 이상점들이 존재할 때 매개효과 검정 방법들의 비교

이 모의실험 연구에서는 매개효과연구에서 OLS 회귀모형을 사용하여 이상점들의 영향력을 검토하였으며, 다섯 가지의 매개효과 검정방법을 비교하였다. 이 연구에서 이상점들(outliers)은 목표 모집단(target population)과 다른 분포를 갖는 하위 모집단(subpopulation)으로 정의되었다. 모의실험의 조건으로는 목표 모집단과 이상점들의 분포(평균과 분산), 이 상점들의 혼합비율, 매개효과의 크기가 고려되었다. 연구결과에 따르면, 모의실험의 조건들 중에서 이상점들의 분산이 증가할수록 매개효과의 검정력은 전반적으로 감소하였다. 또한, 이상점들이 존재할 때 일종오류 비율에 있어서는 비대칭신뢰한계 방법이 모든 조건에서 명목상의 일종오류 비율인 0.05에 가까운 적합한 값들을 산출하였고, 그리고 통계적 검정력 비율에 있어서도 비대칭신뢰한계 방법은 전반적으로 높은 검정력 비율을 나타내었다. 반면에 선행 매개효과 연구에서 일종오류와 통계적 검정력에 있어서 우수한 방법 중 하나로 추천되었던 편향이 수정된 붓스트랩 방법은 이상점들이 존재할 때, 이 연구의 모든 조건에서 일종오류 비율을 명목상의 일종오류 비율보다 과대 추정하였다. 따라서 이 연구의 결과에 따르면, 자료에 이상점들이 존재할 때, 붓스트랩 방법보다 비대칭 신뢰한계 방법을 사용하는 것이 보다 정확한 매개효과 검정 결과를 얻을 수 있다. This study investigated the effects of outliers in mediation analysis and compared five different methods of testing a mediated effect with OLS regression models. In this study, outliers are defined as a subpopulation which distribution has a different shape from a target population 's. The design factors of this study were the different mean and variance of a target population and outliers, the ratio of outliers, and the effect size of the medated effect. Interestingly, it was found that among design factors, an increase of variance in outliers resulted in a decrease of a statistical power rate of a mediated effect. In terms of empirical Type I error rates, the asymmetric confidence limits performed best whereas a bias corrected bootstrap performed worst in most conditions. Also, the asymmetric confidence limits resulted in the higher power rates than others in many conditions. The results of this study recommended the asymmetric confidence limits over bootstrap methods when data include outliers.
