This study was carried out to test a red pepper tedding factors which is needed for design and development of an auto-tedding machine and a performance. According to this test, the results can be summarized as follows: The results of the tedding factors test according to shape of rotary blade, which is the 0.4 to 0.5 mm brush type, was found to be the most appropriate. As a result of tedding ratio which includes brush diameters, driving velocities and rotation velocities, there was generally no significance difference, but the red pepper tedding efficiency was found to be 39.7%. The moisture drying rate of red pepper was found to be 0.9 %w.b./h in prototype auto-tedding machine and 0.4 %w.b./h in traditional practice. The drying time was found to be 3 days in prototype auto-tedding machine and the traditional practice was 6 days. The average variable coefficient of the red pepper moisture content was found to be 16.8% in prototype auto-tedding machine in comparing with the traditional practice of 35.0%. This test showed a difference around two times, and this difference was evaluated to be the reason for irregular drying and different drying times.

This study was carried out to develop an automatic diluting and spraying system of agricultural chemicals in a vinylhouse controlled by a micro-computer. Salt was used in this experiment as a tracer to measure the concentration of agricultural chemicals. Two methods measured by an electrical conductivity and a constant flow rate were introduced to control the agricultural chemicals. The results obtained from this study were summarized as follows: 1. In order to control the quantity of dilute solution, water level detecting sensor was used. This sensor was consist of two enamel wire which were installed perpendicular to the water surface and designed to convert from condensor capacity to voltage output. 2. Also, in order to measure the dilute ratio, electrical conductivity sensor was used. This sensor was designed with an aluminum plate as an electrode and to measure the DC voltage which was proportional to electrical conductivity. 3. Two methods, measured by an electrical conductivity and a constant flow rate, were studied to control the dilute ratio. Also, a software was developed for this purpose. According to the result of this study, both methods were turned out to be a good way to control the agricultural chemicals in vinylhouse by a micro-computer.

This study was performed to develop a dynamometer for measuring simultaneously draft and PTO power by connecting a driving implement at the three-point hitch of the tractor. The structure of the device consists of two octagonal rings which are, based on the principle of abserption dynamometer, mounted between tractor frame and implement frame. A series of test were performed to improve the dynamometer and following results were obtained. 1. In a static performance test the mean and maximum errors in measuring the draft were 1.5% and 2.4%, respectively. In measuring torque mean and maximum errors were 2.1% and 3.1%, respectivly. Accordingly, it can be mentioned that the device developed is very accurate and satisfactory for these kinds of experiments. 2. From the field test of the dynamomenter mounted to the tractor, the draft forces could be measured very accurately. The only problem is that the deviice is affected by external forces such as an obstructor in the PTO power test. In this case, however, the effect was only confined to the instant data not to the average data. Because of its elastic characteristics, it returned to its original position. As the results of this experiment, a dynamometer which can offset the external forces in the PTO power test is necessary to be developed as a future research subject.
