‘탁월한 보편적 가치’에 기초한 역사 교육과정 실행연구: 신라 문화 교류사를 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 신라의 문화 교류사를 UNESCO 세계유산의 등재 기준인 ‘탁월한 보편적 가치’의 관점에서 다시 읽고 수업으로 구성하여 실행한 후, 이 과정에서 얻은 성찰을 토대로 ‘탁월한 보편적 가치’의 관점에서 고대 문화 교류사 교육의 방향성을 제시하는 것이다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, <교육과정 다시 읽기> 차원으로, 우선 현행 고대 문화 교류사 교육에는 ‘협소한 수준에서의 교류 강조’, ‘세계사적 시야의 부재’, ‘문화의 수용보다는 문화의 전파 강조’라는 문제점이 있음을 확인하였다. 다음으로 ‘탁월한 보편적 가치’의 관점에서 신라의 문화 교류사를 다시 읽어 본 결과, 신라의 문화 교류사는 동북아시아 수준을 넘어섰었고, 이러한 교류를 토대로 신라는 보편성에서 탁월성을 추구한 사회였음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, <교육과정 다시 쓰기> 차원에서 국가 수준 교육과정의 고대 문화 교류사를 ‘탁월한 보편적 가치’의 관점에서 다시 구성하여 실행하였다(<신라의 문화 교류사 다시 읽기> 수업). 셋째, <성찰하기> 차원에서 문화 교류사 수업 및 교육에 대한 방향성을 제시하였다. 우선 수업 성찰과 관련하여, ‘문화 교류사 수업에의 천착’, ‘탐구형 프로젝트 수업으로의 지향’, ‘보편성 획득의 의미를 가르치는 수업 방식에 대한 고민 필요’, ‘탁월성 중 예술적 우수성 또한 강조’, ‘초등학생의 수준과 학습 가능성 고려하기’, ‘신라만이 아닌 한반도의 고대와 중세를 아우르는 방식의 주제 구성’ 등을 제안하였다. 다음으로 교육과정 성찰과 관련하여, ‘문화유산에 대한 외형적 요소보다 탁월한 보편적 가치를 중점적으로 서술하기’, ‘전파보다는 교류의 관점에서 서술하기’, ‘탁월성 뿐만 아니라 보편성의 관점도 다루기’, ‘특정 코너나 프로젝트 단원(또는 주제)으로 교과서 구성하기’, ‘열린 해석을 지향하는 교과서로 전환하기’, ‘초등학교에서도 세계사 다루기’, ‘탄력적 환경확대법 강화하기’ 등을 제시하였다. 결국, 문화 교류사 교육은 보편성을 토대로 탁월성을 지향하는 방향으로 이루어져야 할 것이다. The purpose of this study is to read Silla s cultural exchange history from the perspective of ‘Outstanding Universal Value’, the UNESCO World Heritage Registration Standard, and to present the direction of education in ancient cultural exchange history based on reflection obtained in this process. The results are as follows. First, as a dimension of <reading the curriculum again>, it was confirmed that the current ancient cultural exchange history education has problems such as emphasizing exchange at a narrow level , the absence of a world historical perspective , and emphasizing the spread of culture rather than accepting it . Next, as a result of rereading Silla s cultural exchange history from the perspective of outstanding universal value, it was found that Silla s cultural exchange history exceeded the level of Northeast Asia, and based on these exchanges, Silla was a society that pursued outstanding character in universality. Second, in the dimension of Rewriting the Curriculum, the ancient cultural exchange history of the national-level curriculum was reorganized and implemented from the perspective of ‘Outstanding Universal Value’ (<Rereading Silla Cultural Exchange History> instruction). Third, the direction for teaching and education of cultural exchange history was presented in the dimension of reflection . First of all, regarding instruction reflection, it suggested focusing on cultural exchange history instruction , orientation to exploratory project instruction , need to think about teaching methods to acquire universality , emphasize outstanding artistic characteristics , considering elementary school students level and learning possibility , and composition of the theme encompassing the ancient and medieval times of the Korean Peninsula, not just Silla. Next, regarding curriculum reflection, Rather than describing only the external elements of cultural heritage, it focuses on describing outstanding universal values, Describing from the perspective of cultural exchange rather than spreading culture, Controlling not only outstandingness but also universality, Organizing textbooks into specific sections or project units (or topics), Conversion to textbooks aimed at open interpretation, Even in elementary school, dealing with world history, and Enlarging the flexible expanding environments principle were suggested. In the end, education on cultural exchange history should be conducted in the direction of ‘Outstanding Universal Value’.
