N/A Dual-actions are the most recently used delivery system in drug study. Dual-action agents are unique chemical entities comprised of two different type of antibacterial compounds covalently linked together in a single molecule in such a way that both components are able to exert their bactericidal properties. Crosslinked sulfadiazine-sulfanilamide such as antibiotics is synthesized by synthetic handle with glutaraldehyde. As a result, New synthetic antibacterial agent exhibited the broad antibacterial activities against gram(+) and gram(-) of 4 strains and a long durability supposing that the stomach and blood.

Transdermal therapeutic system(TTS) is often used as the method of drug dosage into the epidermic skin. Natural polymer were selected as ointment material of TTS. We investigated the permeation of natural polymer ointment containing drug in rat skin using horizontal membrane cell model. Permeation properties of materials were investigated for water-soluble drug such as oxiniacic acid in vitro. These results showed that skin permeation rate of drug across the composite was mainly dependent on the property of ointment base and drug. Proper selection of the polymeric materials which resemble and enhance properties of the delivering drug was found to be important in controlling the skin permeation rate. This result suggests a possible use of natural polymer ointment base as TTS of antihyperlipoproteinemic agent.

In preparative anti-corrosive coating experiments, polyaniline was obtained by reacting an oxidizing agent with the monomer aniline. Further, the primer coating was prepared using a variety of widely-used materials such as urethane resin. For the top coating, epoxy resin and acrylic urethane resin were used. Characteristics of the coatings were assessed according to KS and ASTM specifications, and the structure of the polyaniline was characterized using FT-IR and TGA. For analysis of anti-corrosive properties in salt-spray experiments, measurements of the oxidation state of iron and surface atomic analysis were conducted using XPS and SEM-EDX. Unlike general anti-corrosive coatings which exhibit anti-corrosive effects only as a primer coating, the anti-corrosive coatings using polyaniline as the anti-corrosive pigment showed a marked synergistic effect with the top coatings. In other words, the top coatings not only produce a fine view effect, but also increase, through interaction with the primer coatings, the resistance to diffusion of corrosive factors from the external environment. It was also found that, unlike the heavy metal oxide-forming layer of the passive barrier alone, the polyaniline anti-corrosive pigment oxidized iron at the interface with the iron substrate to form a passive barrier in the oxidic layer, and itself formed a potential barrier layer with anti-corrosive factors from the external environment. Although the passive layer was damaged, the damaged area did not become completely oxidized iron; on the contrary, it showed a tendency to reduction. This can be interpreted such that a passive layer is formed again on the damaged area, and that at the same time there is a tendency to self-healing.

PVA blend films were prepared by solution blending method for the purpose of useful antibiotic polymers. Characteristics properties of blending films such as elongation and tensile strength were determined. Tensile strength and elongation were rapidly reduced as increasing the blending ratio of natural polymer. Blend films were found that phase separation was occured as more than 25wt% increasing the blend ratio of chitosan. Also, The antibiotics of blend films were examined against gram(+) and gram(-) by disk susceptibility test. As a result, kind of blending films to show the highest antibiotics was chitosan 20wt% and the selectivity of mold strain was observed.

Phenylvinylsulfone derivatives were synthesized by Kirners condition. The structure of these compounds were ascertained by means of ultraviolet, melting point, IR and ^1H-NMR spectra. The nucleophilic addtion reaction kinetics of L-cysteiene for phenylvinylsulfone was investigated by ultraviolet spectrophotlmetery in 40% EtOH-H_2O at 25℃. The rate equations which were applied over a wide pH 1.0~13.0 range. On the basis of general base catalysis and confirmation of addtion reaction product, the nucleophilic addtion reaction kinetics of L-cysteiene for phenylvinylsulfone were measured by the pH change. From the result of the above caption, a plausible nucleophilic addtion reaction mechanism of L-cysteiene for phenylvinylsulfone was proposed. These compounds may by used ad the starting materials for the preparation of the engineering plastics or the germicide.
패각을 이용한 농업용 지속성 담지체의 효과에 대한 연구

Much oyster shell is breeding by character and conduct of oyster-industry for a long time among them. An experimental study was carried out to investigate the recycling possibility of waste oyster shells, which induce environmental pollutions by piling up out at the open or the temporary reclamation. The purpose of this study is to develope eco-friendly binder using waste oyster shells, and to reinforce soils fur soft soil improvement. In this paper, a series of laboratory tests including compressive pot tests were performed to evaluate characteristics of soils treated by developed waste oyster shells with different water content of soils. Based on test results, eco-friendly Supporter manufactured from waste oyster shells were estimated as good resource materials for soft soil improvements. We got the conclusion by a series of experiment, It is verified that change of pH of soil is improved by mixing with oyster shells. The homogenization method for deducing apparent of oyster shells, which can consider micro-structure of mixed soil, is introduced. The improvement treatment leaded to enlarge fluctuation of soil moisture content. The effect of calcium concentration was good though improvement treatment of physical property. In addition, the crop yield in amelioration plots increased. It means that the increase of crop yield was caused by improvement of soil physical properties rather than improvement of calcium concentration.

N/A Eu(Ⅲ) exhibits one electron-transfer reduction at E_1/2 = -0.564 V(vs. Ag/AgCl) and the hypersensitive peak at 615 ㎚ corresponding to ^5D_0→^7F_2 transition in 0.1 M LiClO_4 aqueous solution. Upon the addition of 2,6-pyridine dicarboxylic acid(PDA) to the Eu(Ⅲ) aqueous soultion, the reduction potential shifts negatively and the PDA, and the Eu(Ⅲ)-PDA complex emits great fluorescence than free-Eu(Ⅲ) ion at 615 ㎚. The results are interpreted in term of the electrochemical and spectrofluorometric studies.

N/A Drug delivery system(DDS) have been actively studied for the past twenty years. Dual action agents are unique chemical entities comprised of two different types of antibacterial compounds covalently linked together in a single molecule in such a way that both components are able to exert their bactericidal properties. In spite of the advent of the antibacterial agent the sulfa agents are the most widely used antibacterial agent today. In this study, new antibacterials derivative was synthesized using glutaraldehyde such as crosslinking agent for the purpose of dual-action as DDS study. Antibacterial activity of these new synthetic derivative between their structures and activities were examined by disc diffusion method. As a result, new synthetic derivative exhibited the broad antibacterial activities against Gram(+) and Gram(-) bacilli. Especially, the antibacterial effect of new synthetic derivative against Gram negative(Esherichia. coli) was much stronger than that against Gram positive.
