율곡(栗谷)의 애도시(哀悼詩)에 나타난 추모의 형상화(形象化) 방식(方式)

이 논문은 율곡의 애도시의 효율적 고찰을 위해 ‘남다른 가족애와 생애적 자취의 회고’, ‘인간적 유대감과 생애적 업적의 회고’로 주제 영역을 나누어 그의 애도시에 형상화된 특징적 면모를 구체적으로 살펴보는데 목적을 두었다. 먼저 ‘남다른 가족애와 생애적 자취의 회고’를 살펴보면, 율곡은 누구보다 가족에 대한 애정이 남달랐던 사람으로 한 집안의 평범한 가장으로서 가족에게 충실한 삶을 살고자 했으나 여러 가지 현실의 제약으로 가족을 제대로 건사하지 못한 것에 대한 회한이 드러난다. 이러한 그의 삶의 회한은 가족을 대상으로 한 애도시의 주된 모티브로 작용되며, 망자와 함께한 삶의 회고를 바탕으로 서사적 진술이 곡진하게 전개되는 특징적 면모를 띠게 한다. 다음으로 살펴본 ‘인간적 유대감과 생애적 업적의 회고’에는 율곡이 학문 수양의 시기에서 출사기 이후까지 교유한 당대의 저명한 석학 또는 대소 정객들과의 인간적인 유대감이 형상화되어 있다. 이처럼 정치(사회적으로 관계를 맺은 사람들을 대상으로 한 애도시의 경우, 망자의 정치(사회적 위치에 따른 생애적 업적에 초점을 맞추어 전고를 활용하는 등의 수사적 기법을 동원하여 전개되는 특징적 면모를 보인다. 이러한 율곡의 애도시의 특징적 면모는 인류보편적인 인간애에 바탕을 둔 것으로써 당대는 물론 시대를 뛰어넘어 오늘을 사는 우리들에도 시사하는 바가 크다. 바로 이점이 그의 애도시가 오늘날에도 큰 위상을 지니는 이유라고 할 수 있다. This paper aims to concretely examine the characteristic aspects expressed in the monody of Yulgok, by dividing its subject area into "retrospection of extraordinary family love and lifecourse traces" and "retrospection of humane bond and lifecourse achievements" for efficient consideration of Yulgok Ae city. First, a close look at Yulgok's "retrospection of extraordinary family love and lifecourse traces" reveals his remorse for the fact that he had trouble meeting the needs of his family because of various realistic constraint, even though he wanted to live a faithful life as a normal head of household in a family as a person who had a love for family like no other. This remorse of his life serves as a main motif of the monody for his family, and shows a characteristic aspect in which the narrative statement was given in a thorough manner based on the lifecourse trace of the dead. Next look at the Yulgok's “recollection of human bond and lifecourse achievement” shows the expression of humane bond with great scholars and various politicians of his age, who had been in contact with Yulgok since the time of study adoption and after he entered government service for the first time. In the case of monody for those who had political and social relations with Yulgok, it shows a characteristic aspect developed by the use of rhetorical techniques such as using the previous history focusing on the lifecourse achievements according to the social position of the dead. In this way, Yulgok wanted to live a faithful life internally as a normal head of household in a family and, externally, live a respectable life that emphasized humane bonds that were not ashamed of his duty as a Confucian scholar. This life of Yulgok raises the alarm about the function and role of the family in the modern society where the family disorganizationphenomenon is widespread. It also reminds modern people who live in the era of materialism, where human beings are commercialized, of the importance of humane bond. Here we can find an important reason why his monody can receive attention today.
