In case of elementary educational facility, which is located in overpopulation of the metropolis, is an important facility as a shelter of refuge. It was reported that many elementary educational facilities are deteriorated according to structural safety report. Therefore, elementary educational facility was selected for structural model to predict the seismic damage. Based on structural safety report, material properties of structural model was used for analysis. Nonlinear static analysis was used to evaluate seismic capacity with step by step incremental lateral loading to 2-dimensional frames. Nonlinear dynamic analysis was used to evaluate seismic demand with El centro and Taft earthquake records which was scaled by peak ground acceleration. This analytical study was performed with IDARC-2D program that was developed at S.U.N.Y. Buffalo. Based on analysis results, maximum displacement, story drift ratio, plastic hinge and damage indices are evaluated. And, seismic capacity and demand are compared for maximum roof displacement and base shear coefficient. From the result, it is predicted that damage was concentrated on beam during strong motion. And, seismic capacity was sufficient to 0.2g's peak ground acceleration for El centro earthquake records, 0.25g's peak ground acceleration for Taft earthquake records.
