This study was performed to investigate concept, symptom of disease, pathogenic mechanisms, therapies, and prescriptions through the successive medical literature and rescent chinese medical literature. 1. Yin-yang transmission is that the body's resestance and regenerative capacity has not been recovered afrer great illness, and then because of sexual intercourse, a match is infected, which may related to viral hephatitis by sex intercourse. 2. Relapse of disease due to intemperance in sexual life is that the body's resistance and regenerative capacity has not been recovered after great illness, and then because of sexual intercourse, and then because of sexual intercourse, one's own body is recured. 3. The symptom of Yin-yang transmission is as follows. Heaviness sensation in the limbs, deficiency of qi, heavyness in the head, dim eyesight, upward adverse movement of heat, sensation of contracture of the lowor abdomen, sensation of contracture of the knee joint and leg etc. The symptom of relapse of disease due to intemperance in sexual life companies the symptom of Yin-yang transmission with follows. Salivation and then expiration, muscular constricture of hand and foot, wagging tongue when one is to expire, fever, lockjaw etc. 4. The cause of disease is as follows. Deficiency of yin bring about the interior heat -syndrome, insufficiency of yang brings about cold syndrome, exhaustion of vital essence brings on deficiency syndrome and deficiency of qi, impairment of Chong and Ren Channels etc. 5. The treatment of Yin-yang transmission is follows. The methodes of cure apply tonifying the kidney to arrest spontaneous emission, nourishing yin to reduce pathogenic heat, warming and recuperating the kidney-yang, nursing one's Chong and Ren Channels etc. The medicines of cure make the most of (jwagui-hwan, hoogui-hwan, eshon tang) add and subtract etc. 6. In preventing, the removement of primary diseases and regular sex life are important.

Rubi Fructus(RF) have tested to study the effects concerning urethral nitric oxide synthas activity and nitrite in rats. In vitro, the urethral nitric oxide synthase activity was not noted, but the level of urethral lipid peroxide was decreased in the level of Dose of extract prepared from RE In vivo, after the extract was administered to the animal model for fifteen days, the urethral nitric oxide synthase activity and level of nitrite increased significantly in normal rats. and the level of lipid peroxide decreased significantly. In conclusion, the extract of RF will be able to restore erectile dysfunction of rats.

The fallowing are the results of the experimental studies of Trigonellae Semen (TS) on the urethral nitrite level and the urethral nitric oxide synthase (NOS) activity in streptozotocin(STZ) induced diabetic rats. In vitro, the urethral NOS activity was not noted in the level of Dose of extract prepared from TS. In vivo, the urethral NOS activity was increased in normal rats by dose and term of the extract prerared from TS. The urethral NOS activity decreased in STZ induced diabetic rats was increased as highly as normal group by the extract of TS. The level of urethral nitrite and gluthione was increased too. The level of urethral lipid peroxide increased in STZ induced diabetic rats was decreased as lowly as normal group by the extract of TS. In conclusion, the extract of TS will be able to restore erectile dysfunction of STZ induced diabetic rats.
全蝎 抽出物이 血栓症, 全腦虛血 및 腦細胞毒性에 미치는 影響

본 실험은 전갈 추출물이 어혈병태 모델과 KCN으로 유발된 전뇌허혈, 뇌세포독성 등에 미치는 영향을 관찰하였다. 전갈은 Dextran에 의해 유도된 혈전으로 감소된 혈소판수, fibrinogen량, hemocrit치를 유의성 있게 증가시키고. 증가된 prothrombin time을 유의성 있게 단축시켰다. 전갈은 thrombin과 ADP에 의해 유도된 혈소판 응집을 억제하였으나 collagen에 의해 유도된 혈소판 응집에는 저해효과를 나타내지 않았다. 또한 collagen과 epinephrine에 의해 유도된 pulmonary embolism에 대하여 보호 효과를 나타내었다. 전갈은 KCN에 의한 전뇌허혈 유발 실험에서 혼수시간을 유의성 있게 단축시켰고, Amyloid β protein(25-35)에 의해 유도된 PC12 세포의 독성에 대하여 보호효과를 나타내었다. This following is effect of Buthus martensi Karsch (BMK) extract on dextran-thrombus model, KCN-induced coma, cytotoxicity of brain etc. BMK extract significantly increased number of platelet and fibrogen and significantly shortened the prothrombin time as compared with control group treated with dextran. BMK extract didn't affect the changes of hematocrit as compared with control group treated with dextran. BMK extract induced a significant inhibition of human platelet aggregation induced by thrombin and ADP but did not affect human platelet aggregation induced by collagen. BMK extract showed a protective effect on pulmonary thrombosis induced by collagen and epinephrine. BMK extract prolonged the duration of KCN-induced coma and showed a protective effect on cytotoxicity of PC12 cells induced by amyloid β protein(25-35) in a dose dependent manner. These results suggested that BMK extract might be usefully applied for prevention and treatement of thrombosis and brain damage.
甲狀腺 機能亢進症에서 백강잠의 抗酸化 效果에 대한 硏究

This study was carried out to examine if Bombycis Corpus (BOM) inhibits oxidant-induced lipid peroxidation and therby produces protective effect against thyroxine-induced hyperthyroid rats. In vivo, Triiodothyronine(T3) and thyroxine(T4) were increased in thyroxine treated group. However, they were decreased in BOM extract's pre-applied group. Lipid peroxidation was increased in thyroxine treated group. However, it was decreased in BOM extract's pre-applied group. Xathine oxidase activities and type conversion ratio were increased in thyroxine treated group. However, they were decreased in BOM extract's pre-applied group. Glutathione level and activities of glutathione peroxidase, glutathione S-transferase and glutathione reductase were decreased in thyroxine treated group. However, they were increased in BOM extract's pre-applied group. These results suggest that BOM, in thyroxine-induced hyperthyroid rats, has an increase in the activities of oxygen free radical scavenging enzymes and inhibition of xanthine oxidase activities and thereby prevents lipid peroxidation.

Objective : his study was carried out to investigate the effect of Dansameum (DS) on the gastrohemorrhagic lesion induced by ammonia in rats. Methods : Rats were pretreated with DS extract 25 mg/kg for 10 days and then were given amonia through gastric tube. The animals were killed 1 hr after amonia treatment. Results : DS extract siginificantly reduced the gastrohemorrhagic lesion score, the gastric lipid peroxide level, the gastric urease activity, the gastric myeloperoxidase activity, the gastric acid phosphatase activity, xanthine oxidase activity and type conversion, and increased the gastric glutathione level considerably. In photomicrographs of stomach tissue in rat, we could see the gastrohemorrhagic lesion induced clearly. conclusions : These results suggest that DS extract may be effective in peptic ulcer.
해조환(海藻丸)이 갑상선(甲狀腺) 기능항진증(機能亢進症)에서 항산화(抗酸化) 효과(效果)에 미치는 영향(影響)

This study was carried out to examine if Haejohwan (HJ) inhibits oxidant-induced lipid peroxidation and therby produces protective effect against thyroxine-induced hyperthyroid rats. Triiodothyronine $(T_3)$, thyroxine $(T_4)$, lipid peroxidation, xathine oxidase activities and type conversion ratio were increased in thyroxine treated group. However, they were decreased in HJ extract's pre-applied group. Glutathione level, activities of glutathione peroxidase, glutathione Stransferase and glutathione reductase were decreased in thyroxine treated group. But, they were increased in HJ extract's pre-applied group. These results suggest that in thyroxine-induced hyperthyroid rats HJhas an increase in the activities of oxygen free radical scavenging enzymes and inhibition of xanthine oxidase activities, and prevents lipid peroxidation.

To clarifiy the effects of Scolopendrae corpus(S-C) on turmor promotion in two-stage carcinogenesis in mice was investigated. In vivo system, S-C were seen to gave an inhibitory activity on TPA-induced mouse ear edema. In addition, the S-C were proved to have antitumor-promoting activity in two-stage mouse skin carcinogenesis induced by DMBA and two-stage mouse lung carcinogenesis induced by 4-NQO as a initiator plus TPA and glycerol as a promoter. Moreover, S-C significantly exhibited an cytolytic effect in $HepG_2$ cells and showed significant antitumor activity against Sarcoma-180 bearing mice by oral administration. These results suggest that S-C could be effective in adjuvant chemotherapy for human cancer.
