의왕ICD는 현대적 시설과 하역장비를 갖추어 연간 100만TEU를 처리 할 수 있는 수도권유일의 내륙컨테이너기지이다. 유리한 입지조건 수도권 물류수송의 거점 역할 내륙통관 기능 등 많은 이점을 가지고 있어 철도수송 활성화의 중요한 부분을 차지한다. 그러나 의왕ICD는 현재 시설 및 운영상의 문제점으로 컨테이너화물 철도수송 활성화의 한계에 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 의왕ICD의 문제점을 시설부분과 운영부분으로 구분하여 분석하고 2023년 점용허가 기간이 만료되는 시점을 기준으로 단기 중장기로 구분하여 개선방안을 제시하였다. 그러나 의왕ICD의 철도수송 활성화는 이러한 개선방안 외에도 철도공사와 입주업체의 노력과 함께 정부 의왕시 철도시설공단 등 관련기관의 지원과 협력이 있어야만 가능 할 것이다. 이러한 의왕ICD의 개선은 복합일관수송체계를 구축하여 효율적인 철도물류 인프라 조성 및 철도물류 활성화에 기여하고 또한 친환경 수송시스템 구축으로 정부의 저탄소 녹색성장 정책에도 기조 할 것으로 기대된다. Uiwang ICD which is the only inland container depot in the capital area is equipped with modern facilities and loading and unloading equipment and can handle 1,000,000 TEU annually.It has many advantages such as advantageous conditions of location the role of foothold for distribution transportation in the capital area so it plays an important role of vitalizing the railroad transport. However Uiwang ICD has reached the limit in the vitalization of railroad transport of containerized cargo due to the current problems in facilities and operations. This research analyzed the Uiwang ICD's problems by dividing them into facilities problems and operational problems and presented short-term and medium and long-term improvement measures with the year 2023 when the private use permission expires as the basic year. However the vitalization of railroad transport of Uiwang ICD can be attained only when it has support and cooperation from the government Uiwang-si Korea Rail Network Authority and other related organizations together with efforts of Korea Railroad Corporation and occupant companies. Such improvement measures for Uiwang ICD are expected to contribute to establishing combined transport system and forming efficient railroad distribution infrastructures and vitalizing railroad distribution and also contribute to the government's low-carbon green growth policy by building environment-friendly transport system.

This is a case report on the occurrence of caprine arthritis-encephalitis(CAE) disease among dairy goats in a local farm located in Yeongdong-gun, Chungbuk. Previously, it was reported that the farm experienced intermittent deaths numbering 15 of the 97 goats raised for 5 months. Most of the goats less than 6 months of age were suffering from ataxia and posterior paresis, body tremor and abnormal head posterior. Affected animals frequently had stunted growth and had a rough coat. Goats more than 6 months of age were affected with an insidious, chronic arthritis characterized by articular swelling("big knee") of the carpal, hock, and stifle joints. Necropsy revealed severely swollen mesenteric lymph nodes, under-flow of 2-3㎖ synovial fluid in the articular space and fibrous proliferation of synovial membrane. Histopathological examination showed perivascular accumulations of mononuclear inflammatory cells in the white matter of the brain, proliferative synovitis characterized by villous hypertrophy, synovial cell hyperplasia and infiltration by mononuclear inflammatory cells. Pulmonary lesions consists of patchy interstitial pneumonia with hyperplasia of lymphoid tissues and an extensive mononuclear inflammatory cell infiltration into the alveolar septa. Confirmation by nested PCR involves amplification of a 296bp(1st PCR) and 184bp(2nd PCR) fragments corresponding to the gag region of the CAE virus. This is the first time CAE has been reported in a local farm in Korea and emphasizes the importances of developing preventive measures against CAE.
