Hofmannsthals fiktiver Brief, der unter dem Namen des fiktiven Briefschreibers meist als Chandos-Brief gefuhrt wird, zahlt zu den wichtigsten Texten der klassischen Moderne und der deutschen Literatur uberhaupt. Der Chandos-Brief markiert einen Einschnitt in Leben und Werk Hofmannsthals. Er markiert das Ende der lyrischen Periode und den Beginn der dramatischen Periode. Uber Person und Werk Hofmannsthals hinausgehend hat die Literaturgeschichte den Text unter dem Schlagwort ‘Sprachkrise’ zum Paradigma und Beginn der Moderne erhoben. Solche allgemeinen Periodisierungskonzepte konnten den Chandos-Brief konzeptuell zu vereinfachen und unangemessen zu vereinseitigen, wenn man ihn nur im Hinblick auf seine zukunftsweisenden Aspekte wie Sprachund Wahrnehmungskrise betrachten wurde. Ebenso bedeutend scheint die retrospektive Asthetizismus-Kritik zu sein. Der Text bietet noch einmal alle Register des Asthetizismus auf, um ihn als uberlebtes asthetisches Modell zu erweisen. Im Brief, der ganz nach den Erfordernissen einer Pathogenese aufgebaut ist, wird die Leidensgeschichte eines Astheten erzahlt. Chandos kleidet seinen “anderen Zustand”, namlich die Schaffenskrise, in Krankheitsmetaphern und trachtet mit korperlichen Symptomen wiederzugeben. Im Ruckblick sieht Chandos seine fruhere Existenz als ein kunstvermitteltes Leben und findet das Ungenugen an dieser kunstvermittelten Existenz. Er beschreibt jedoch die belebenden Augenblicke in seiner Aphasie, und zwar anhand einiger Beispiele aus seinem Alltagsleben: der Todeskampf vergifteter Ratten oder ein Schwimmkafer in der Gießkanne. In diesen mystischen Augenblicken setzt die sinnliche Erfahrung die sprachliche Ordnung der Dinge außer Kraft. Hier zeigt sich eine Asthetik der Epiphanie, des gottlichen Moments einer kreaturlichen Einsfuhlung im Willen zum Leben. In diesem Sinne fuhrt der Chandos-Brief den Wechsel von der begrenzten Wortwelt des Asthetizismus in die grenzenlose Wirklichkeit geradezu programmatisch vor. Er inauguriert eine neue Asthetik, die Subjektivitat und Soziales zu vermitteln sucht. In diesem Vermogen, sich selbst in seinen impressionistischen Anfangen historisch zu sehen und diese Anfange aber zu einer asthetischen Neuorientierung zu nutzen, darin ist die werkgeschichtliche Bedeutung des Chandos-Briefes zu sehen. Der sozialen Aufgabe der Kunst suchte Hofmannsthal danach durch entschiedene Hinwenung zum Drama gerecht zu werden.

The stability constants (K) of the complex formation of 2,3,11,12-dibenzo-1,4,7,10,13,16-hexacyclooctadca-2, 11-diene (dibenzo-18-crown-6, DBC) with alkalimetal salts (NaCl, KCl, KBr. KI, KClO₄, RbCl, CsCl) in N, N,-Dimethyl-formamide (DMF) have been determined conductometrically at constant ionic strength of ?? and at 25℃. The stability constants of the complexes are functions of not only ion size, but also charge density of metallic ion. The order of the stability constants is ?? Sox10 Maintains the Multipotency of Neural Crest Stem Cells

In developing embryos, stem cells serve to construct tissues and organs de novo, while in adults they maintain ongoing cellular turnover and provide regenerative capacity in certain tissues. Such characteristics of stem cells have brought keen interests in utilizing them for therapeutic purposes for both congenital and degenerative diseases. Neural stem cells in particular. may serve as a useful tool for curing or lessening the burdens of neurotraumas and neurodegenerative diseases. However, in order for successful therapeutic strategies to be developed, several scientific issues concerning identifying sources of stern cells and controlling their development in vivo and in vitro must be addressed first. This in turn means that identifying genes that affect the growth and differentiation of neural stern cells and analyzing their regulation and function are of paramount importance. The neural crest is a population of stern cells unique to vertebrates that generates a wide variety of cell types including autonomic and sensory neurons and associated glia of the peripheral nervous system. In vitro, neural crest stern cells(NCSCs) can be induced to differentiate into at least three distinct cell types, autonomic neurons, glial cells, and myofibroblasts, by molecularly defined instructive cell-extrinsic signals. It is thus an attractive system for isolating and functionally characterizing cell-intrinsic and cell-extrinsic determinants of multipotency and lineage diversification. One interesting candidate for the multipotency factor is Sox10, a member of the high mobility group(HMG) box transcription factor family that is expressed specifically in early migrating neural crest cells. Although loss-of-function mutations of this gene result in defect in glial lineage development, the fact that Sox10 is expressed in multipotent NCSCs rather than in lineage restricted subsets raised the possibility of a broader role at the multipotent stage. The function of Sox10 in multipotent NCSCs was examined by ectopically expressing Sox10 and challenging with BMP2 and TGF-β, the growth factors that induce neuronal and myofibroblast fates respectively. The result showed that Sox10 not only protected the glial potential from BMP2 and TGF-β but also surprisingly preserved the neuronal potential from TGF-β. Sox10 was also shown to prevent TGF-β induced proliferative arrest. Taken together, these data indicate that Sox10 does not exert glial fate-determination effect per se but rather functions to maintain the multipotent and proliferative state of stern cells.

중성운반체를 이용한 리튬이온 선택전극

리튬이온의 새로운 중성운반체로서 tetrahydrofuran 단위로 16고리 crow-4를 퓨란 과 아세톤으로 부터 산촉매 하에서 합성하여 리튬이온과의 착물형성반응을 Li-7 NMR과 전기존도도법으로 조사했다. 합성한 리간드를 PVC-액체막전극에 사용하여 분리용액법에 의한 리튬이온의 선택성을 결정하였다. 막용매, tris(2-ethyphexyl)phosphate에서 리튬이온의 선택수는 알칼리금속이온 및 알칼리토금속이온에대해 2.4×10-4에서 2.3×10-3범위의값을 가졌으며, 산성용약(pH=2이하, 0.1M LiCI)에서 액체막은 H+이온의 방해로 불안정하였다. Much attemtion has been paid to the lithim ion-selective electrodes for environmental and biological applications. Several neutral carriers for Li+ - selective electrides have been reported so for, such as crown ethers, noncyclic polyethers, and so on.7,10 Lithium selective electrides are of great interest for the direct potentiomertic determination of Li+ ion in whole blood during the lithium therapy of patients suffering from manic-depressive psychosis, where as Li+ - concentration in bolld of 0.8 to 1.0 mM is required.4 The main problem of the Li+ - ionophores published until now is their unsatisfying selectivity especially against Na+ which is present in a relatively high concentration of 86 mM in blood.2 During the search for more appropriate carriers, an interestin class of lipophilic compounds derived from THF-containing fragments was designed (Fig.1). The ubiquity of THF unit in the naturally occuring antibiotic ionophores(e.g.,monactin, nigerisin, and monesin contain terahydrofuran) encourage this utility as a macrocyclic chain component because of its greater donor ability as well as its hydrophilic and lipophilic balance. We have investigated the complexing ability between Li+ and the 2, 2, 7, ,7 12, 12, 17, 17 octamethyl-21, 22, 23, 23, -tetraozaperhydroquat- erene (THF-based Crown-4, Fig.1) by 1H, 13C and 7Li NMR spectroscopy.9 In this paper we report that PVC membrane electrides based on THF-based Crow-4 exhibit good selectivity for Li+ over other alkali and alkaline earth metal ions.

The stability constants(K_s) of 1:1 complex between the trivalent lantanide ions and diaza 15-crown-5(DA15C5), diaza-18-cfO\vn-6(DA18C6) were determined by potentiometric method in 95% methanol in constant ionic strength(I=0.lM, (CH_3)_4NCI) at 25±0.1℃. The stability of the lanthanide complex with diazacrownether, DA18C6 DAI5C5 increase with decreasing ionic radius of the Ln(Ⅲ), but the stability in the case of crownether, 18C6 decrease with decreasing ionic radius despite the higher charge density of the metal ion.

Macrocyclic Polyether 와 금속염과의 錯物形成의 安定度에 관한 硏究

N,N-Dimethylformamide 溶液에서 macrocyclic polyether 化合物인 dibenzo-18-crown-6와 알칼리 및 알칼리토금속염들과의 錯物形成에 관한 安定度常數를 一定 溫度 範圍(10-46℃)에서 電氣傳導度法으로 決定하였다. 비슷한 이온반경에서 安定度常數가 ?? 또는 ??인 것은 錯物形成의 安定度가 DB18C6의 空洞 뿐만 아니라 금속이온의 전하밀도에도 관계 됨을 考察해 보았다. 陰이온의 영향은 ?? 順으로 DMF溶液에 대한 陰이온의 溶媒化 順位와 一致한다. 錯物의 安定度常數와 溫度變化에 관한 式으로부터 엔탈피變化(ΔH)와 엔트로피변화(ΔS)도 計算했다. The Stability constants (K) for the 1:1 complexes of alkali and alkaline earth cations with dibenzo-18-crown-6 (DB18C6) in DMF)N,N-Dimethyl formamide) have been determined conductometrically at 10-45℃. The Stability sequences of the alkali and alkaline earth cations with DB18C6 in DMF are ??. These results show that the selectivity of DB18C6 toward the alkali and alkline earth cations is dependent on the cavity of DB18C6 and the charge density of the metallic ion. The enthalpy change (ΔH) and entropy change (ΔS) of complexation reaction have been calculated for the temperature dependent of the stability constants.
