        1. Ardea cinerea, Egretta alba modesta, E. garzetta, E. intermedia and Bubulcus ibis are recognized in eleven observed nesting places in Korea. 2. The nests were built mostly on pine trees, but also oak, black alder, Himalaya cedar, camellia, persimmon, and acasia trees. 3. Since ten nests of different species were observed on a single tree, there is no territorial boundary among the egrets. 4. The earliest arrival was March 25th and the last flight to the south was October 6th. 5. Egg laying begins from April 15th and the usual clutch is four eggs. Incubation and growing periods are as follows: egg sige(mm) incubation(day) growing(day) A. cinerea 64X43 27 55 E. alba modesta 55X38 26 50 E. intermedia 49X35 25 45 E. garzetta 44X33 23 40 B. ibis 45X34 21 35 6. The lifecycle of the bullfrog covers a long period; 14 months for the tadpole to develop into a frog and three years for the frog to mature. In order shorten the growth period and stimulate the growth rate, the author carried out an experiment, feeding frogs raised in the field during the summer months and indoors in the winter. The result was successful and it was found that the growth period could be cut by half; seven months for the tadpole to develop and two years for the frog to mature. 300 pyong(o.l.h) of ponds were prepared for outdoor raising in Yiwang Myon, Shihung Kun(4㎞ from Anyang) and two small rooms on Ewha campus, behind the Science Hall. 200 breeding frog were imported and placed in the ponds in Shihung and spawning commenced on July 9, 1972. 105 days later, many of the tadpoles grew to 100-125㎜. A hundred of them were collected and taken into the indoor raising room on October 29, 1972 and raised on lettuce, spinach, and loaches. Row lettuce were used and spinach and loaches were boiled before feeding the tadpoles. Transformation began from December 14, 1972 and the body length of the young frog was 45㎜ and weighed 7g. The following table shows the growth rate up to maturation: Date Body length Body wieght 1972. 12. 15 45㎜ 7g 1973. 2. 10 75〃 56〃 5. 17 100〃 145〃 7. 14 130〃 295〃 10. 15 155〃 635〃 1974. 2. 15 160〃 656〃 3. 14 160〃 685〃 4. 15 160〃 757〃 6. 24 160〃 805〃 The matured females spawned for the third generation in the following places: A. Jonjin Dairy Pond(near DMZ) Date of placing the Seed Frog: May 20, 1974 Number of Frogs: Four females and four males Date of spawning: Jun 18, 1974 B. Yongsan Pond(8th Army golf field) Date of placing Seed Frog: June 4, 1974 Number of frogs: Two females and two males Date of spawning: June 30, 1974 C. Sosa Pond(AmericanKorean Foundation Farm in Sosa) Date of placing Seed Frogs: 24, 1974 Number of Frogs: Four females and four males Date of spawning: July 13, 1974 At present there are many adults, young frogs, and tadpoles in Shihung ponds and only tadpoles are wintering in the above three places. About 30 frogs are being fed indoors and some of them are expected to spawn in June, 1975.

        1. Sixty-five species were known from this area by 1932 with no additional species being reported to date. 2. In order to clarify the fauna, the authors made one full year's collection from October, 1958 to October, 1959. Thirty-two species are added to the fauna of Kwangnung, raising the number of species to ninety-seven. 3. Weekly collections were made by the authors along several preset courses in order to cover the area adequately as shown on the map. Collections were made as recorded in the following table: 1958 1959 month Oct Apr May June July Aug Sept Oct date 24 12, 1819, 25 2, 9, 1512,28,30 12, 1320, 28 5, 1125 2, 1624, 30 13, 2027 4, 25 4. The species were grouped in four categories according to the number of specimens appearing in our collections. The following table presents the numbers of species in each categories: A=most abundant - 22 species B=common - 16 ˝ C=rare - 15 ˝ D=very rare - 38 ˝ 5. The data from the entire groups of primary school pupils on Cheju Island show that February has the highest percentage of births. 4. The overall figure shows a similar tendency with the birth month statistics of the entire of Japan. It may mean that the urban and rural district are different from the viewpoint of birth dates. 5. Birth ratio at birth were figured out of 9,122 (1961-65) from the records of Ewha Womans University Hospital. The birth ratio shows 100 : 106.50.
