The purpose of this study is to examine the contents of sociology of music education of Regelski and to suggest implications for Korean music education. To this end, his views on music and music education based on his praxis theory, criticism on traditional music education, and his suggestions regarding music curriculum were examined. The implications of Regelski’s perspectives for Korean music education are the following: The consideration of the practical results of music education, the active use of technologies, the balance in music education repertoire, and the dialogues and communications between experts in designing a national music curriculum.
