      • 韓國産 다람쥐를 利用한 結核症 診斷에 關한 硏究

        In order to investigate the possibility of the use of Korean chipmunks for the diagnosis of tuberculosis, specimens collected from suspected tuberculous patients were tested, and the following results were obtained. 1) The Korean chipmunks were more susceptible to tubercle bacilli than mice. 2) Out of the 79 suspected tuberculous patients, 40 cases were confirmed by microscopic examination. 3) Out of the 39 microscopically negative cases, 6 cases were confirmed by culture and 21 cases by animal inoculation. 4) Compered with culture and mice inoculation, the inoculation into chipmunks resulted in the early diagnosis, by few weeks. 5) Identification of tubercle bacilli by Korean chipmunks inoculation was considered more rapid and susceptible than by culture and mouse inoculation. It was considered an appropriate experimental animal for the diagnosis of tuberculosis.

      • Staphylococcus aureus의 成長 및 生物學的 性狀에 미치는 Colchicine의 影響

        The effects of colchicine on the Staphylocaccus aureus 209 strain were investigated by means of growth curve and biochemical charracteristics. The results are summerized as follows; 1. Growth of the Staphylococcus aureus was increased until six hours in 5 to 20mg per ml of colchicine concentration, and it was decreased remarkably after six hours. 2. Staphylococcus aureus were not remarkable effects on the coagulase, gelatin liquefe tion, and mannitol fermention test during twelve hours in 5 to 20mg per ml of colchicine concentration. 3. Hemolysis test for the Staphlococcus aureus was normally occured during six hours in 5 mg per ml of colchicine concentration, but the test did not occured after 8 hours. And also the test did not occured after 4 hours in the 10 to 20mg per ml of colchicine concentration. From the above results suggest that growth of the Staphylococcus aureus was more effectivelly inhibited by the exposed tims thar Colchicine cclhicine concentration in 5 to 20 mg per ml. Colchicine treatment may be changes the biochemical characteristics of the Stapylococcus aureus.

      • 忠南 保寧郡에서 1975年 Salmonellosis 流行時의 保菌者 調査

        The authors attempted to find out the carrier of Salmonella from 325 cases of fecal samples at the Sungju-ri area in April and May 1975 The rate of Salmonella and sensitivity test of isolated Salmonella were studied. The results are summerized as follows; 1) Two cases were S. typhi and one case was S. enteritidis from 325 fecal samples. 2) Two strains of S. typhi were resistant to Erythromycin, moderate resitant to Kanamycin, Terramycin, Streptomycin, and Aureomycin, and sensitive to Chloramphenicol and Penicillin. One strain of S. enteritidis was resistant to Erythromycin, moderate resistant to Kanamycin, Terramycin, Aureomycin, and sensitive to Chloramphenicol, Streptomycin, and Penicillin.
