        The purpose of this research was to measure and evaluate relative strength of left and right triceps surae muscle of excellent jumpers and sprinters using Cybex-Ⅱ System. The subjects of this research were 5 men and women of 100-m sprinter, 5 men and women of 400-m sprinter, 5 men and women of high jumper, 5 men and women of triple jumper, and 5 men and women of long distanceer, respectively. The method of the experiment was exercised centering around peantar flexion and dorsiflexion of triceps surae muscle using Cybex-Ⅱ System. the procedures of the experiment were as follows: After falling on one's face in an upright position on the upper-body exercise and testion table, the parts of gluteus maximus and femur(thigh bone) were fastened with fixed belt. After sticking and fastenning available foot with fixed belt to the sole of a foot on a springboard equipped with the anklebone and dynamoneter, the light exercise was tried without discomforts in exerting strength. The guage was fixed at 0˚ the ankle joint so that the strength can be produced correctly, torque guage and cybex data reduction computer were controlled. After setting at 30˚/sec, the strength was exerted maximally. This velocity was the velocity that can measure maximal strength of triceps surae muscle centering around the ankle joint. After exerting the strength of 3 to 5 times, the best peak torque of those was selected and produced.

        The purpose of this research is to make a conducive role to selection new elite athletes and providing basis data for their scientific training through analyzing the effect of the shortterm camp training for the shot put players along with the development stage of special physique and physical fitness. The number of subject players were approximately 11(5 male, 6 female per 1 year) persons and the training was done twice a year from 1984 to 1988. And the period of every training lasted 20 days. The result of this research is as follows. 1. Physique a) In height factor, the average height was 182.5±2.18cm for male and 167.8±3.39cm for female. In case of world's best athletes, it was 192.5±5.10cm for male and 179.8±4.47cm for female. b) In body weight factor, the average rate of male athletes was increased annually while there was only a small change in women. c) In stretch of arms factor, it was average 186.7±4.68cm for male and 169.6±5.21cm for female. It indicates that development aspect is in direct ratio to height. d) In calf girth factor, it was average 46.3±1.85cm for male and 44.2±2.62cm for female. This indicates a big increase rate for male, yet small increase rate for female. 2. Physical fitness a) In abdominal strength factor, male athlethes showed a incessant, yet no significance difference (Pre and post training result is as follow¾Pre¾32.43±9.71sec, post¾34.39±10.58sec). On the contrary, female athletes showed a significant increase rate from 22.24±9.4sec to 28.66±13.87sec.(P<0.001) b) In dead lift factor, both men and women showed a significant increase rate from 191.4±19.39Kg to 197.8±19.12Kg (P<0.05) and 116.9±21.89Kg to 121.8<18.32Kg (P<0.05) respectively. c) In squat factor, annually man showed a significant increase from 183.3±20.65Kg to 190.0±23.68Kg while woman didn't show a significance difference, yet an increase from 113.6±10.26Kg to 117.6±14.02Kg. d) In standing broad jump factor, both man and woman didn't show a significance difference. The result was changed from 280.8±11.81cm to 281.9±10.93cm for man and from 225.9±13.40cm to 226.5±9.24cm for woman. The annual decrease rate of the record seems to be caused by the body weight. e) In standing triple jump factor. it was changed from 811.8±32.76cm to 811.2±26.84cm for man and from 655.8±27.55cm to 658.1±27.22cm for woman. f) In lying start 30m run, both man and woman didn't show a significance difference between pre and post training. It was changed from 5.44±0.19 to 5.52±0.21 sec for man and from 6.14±0.30sec to 6.13±0.27sec for woman. g) In 8-type boomerang run factor, both man and woman didn't show a significance difference except 1984 (P<0.01). The record was changed from 21.96±1.81sec to 21.83±1.43sec for man and from 23.92±2.13sec to 23.16±1.71sec for woman.

      • 창던지기 남ㆍ여 선수들의 운동학적 비교 분석

        This study is to analyze the effect of the kinematical factors of man and woman javelin throwers. 6 subjects in this study took part in current high ranked in univer sity competitor. Two S-VHS video cameras set in 60frames/sec were used for recording from the landing of last step to the landing of reverse motion in javelin throw. After filming and digitizing when the javelins were thrown, the Direct Linear Transformation(DLT) technique was employed to obtain 3-D position coordinates (Abdel-Aziz & Kararah,1971), a cubic spline function was used for smoothing and differentiation and the time, displacement, velocity and angle variables were calculated. And the following conclusions were drawn; 1.The man players showed the shorter duration from the landing of last step in approach to landing of reverse motion than woman players, especially, in phase1 from landing of last step to release. 2.In the COG at the last step before release showed similar pattern, but in the stride width change showed shorter than woman players and in the reverse motion after release showed longer. 3.In upper arm horizontal velocity, the man players showed more rapidly than woman players. Therefore, the man showed difference woman in record. 4.In angle variables, the angle of trunk in release event done a inclined condition about 10 degree. especially, the angle of shoulder and the elbow showed to flexion in release event all. 5.For effective release motion, the woman players should increase the muscle power and agility as large as possible, and lean the body to vertical, increase. The thigh and shank should be increased the angular velocity about hip and knee joint with propelling toward COG at right foot landing ready to reverse motion.

      • 투창 주동작의 역학적 분석

        The main purpose of this study were to investigate the biomechmical factors during the main movement executed by elite javalin throwers and the correlation between those results and acquired distance. Two male and three female collegiate javelin throwers performing javelin throw were filmed using a high speed vedio camera operating at 60 fps. The ground reaction forces in the lead foot were obtained from an AMTI force platform. The conclusions were as follows: 1. Average necessary times, from lead foot contact to release moment, ranged from 0.189 to 0.199 sec. The correlation between the necessary time and acquired distance showed generally negative values. 2. Hipt joint appeared larger than shoulder joint in the linear displacement. The correlation between shoulder displacement and acquired distance was significant. 3. Distal joint had more velocity than proximal joint. The Correlation between distal joint and acquired distance, distal joint and initial velocity javelin were significant. Angular velocity of shoulder joint showed larger than that of hip joint in all subjects. The correlation between angular velocity and acquired distance showed negative value in the hip joint but positive in the showlder joint. 4. Acceleration was large in the elbow and wrist joints but, showed negative value in the shoulder joint. 5. The correlation between release angle and acquired distance showed negative value. 6. The correlation between release height and acquired distance was significant for the most part. 7. The ground reaction force of the vertical average ranged from 1.6 to 1.7 times of their weight in males and 2.0~2.6 times in females. The correlation between ground reaction force and acquired distance was not significant.
