The farmer's ballads of the Cheongwon-gun districts except those of Buyong-myeon are generally slow like those of the Chooung buk districts. This feature has advantages deepening songs all the more since each sound becomes a rocking sound, a falling sound, a transitive sound, etc. Most of the ballads belong to the 'Gyemyeon-jo' (Minor Scale) which is composed of three notes or four notes. Exceptionally the ballads of 'Pyeong-jo'(Major Scale, 'Anpangge Sori') which is composed of five notes were also found. For the result of this study, we can find the possibility of collecting a variety of materials, for even the same kind of type has been changed according to villages and singers, and we can also find the future possibility of collecting many different ballads in various areas with comparatively less frequent interchange among them. As the farmer's ballads are a kind of popular songs which bear the grief and joy our people depending on farming, they hold a racial spirit, and they have the rhythm and melody kept only by our people. Therefore, they should be preserved and handed down at all costs. We are convinced that they will be infinite materials in creating modern music art based on them. However, it is possible to collect them from the old persons over sixty years old, now. Therefore, we will suggest that we should be in a hurry to collect them. For the problem about how we can show the flavor of singers as it is on the score, the further study on the score collecting will be necessary.

A study on the 19c's German Lied In the field of piano accompaniment. Although the German Lied has been continually advanced since the medieval period, it was not until the Romantic period it established it's place through artistic songs. German Lied completed it's form in the 18th century but did not reach it's peak of popularity until the 19th century. The following seasons are as to why lied was completed in such style first after Goethe the Romantist's poems such as Heine, Eichendorff, Morike, Schiller etc, has brought importance. Secondly, due to mechanical advancement in piano the artistic expressions has been brought out throughly. Thirdly, 19th century's expressions through poems and literature has corresponded with the period. And lastly the middle class population has shown interest in enjoying the musical activities. In the 19th century the German Lied started with Schubert and led into Schmann, Brahms, Wolf, Maher and Struss with advancement but in the 20th century the musical tendency in tonality has reached it's limits and due to different and new attempts in expressing it lost it's original characteristics. The most interest thing about 19th century's German Lied is that piano accompaniment does not simply present harmony of the melody but khas brough important role in combining the harmonious melodly. Further on piano accompaniment and melody has equally played an important role in explaining and expressing the meaning of the poem. Following are different styles of accompaniment of Lied from my studies. 1. Choral style of accompaniment Mostly it's been used in general Bass Lied and early Berlin school Lied, piano accompaniment simply creates harmonioous melody in subordinate form. 2. Arpeggio style of accompaniment : Since the classical period, Albertibass and arpeggio style has been used most in Lied accompaniment. 3. Descriptive style of accompaniment : Mostly used in Lied of schubert. It expresses poetic atmosphere or subject description. 4. Independent style of accompaniment Mostly it's been used in Schumann. lied. It does not limit to melody's subordinate form but often used in duet of piano and human voice. 5. Other style of accompaniment : Piano accompaniment expresses complete independence and leads the whole. song's atmosphere in the most manner or poem's atmosphere is expressed through harmony of piano accompaniment or combination of different characteristics all combined in the piano accompaniment.
