Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors related to mental health and oral health awareness that affect the tendency to search for happiness. Methods: In this study, we conducted a self - report questionnaire survey with 197 participants belonging to the Myself Generation in Jeju Island. Results: There was a significantly greater tendency to seek overall happiness in individuals with lower age, good subjective physical health low levels of depression and stress high self-esteem good subjective mental health and good subjective health status. The most influential factors were self - esteem and mental health awareness followed by general characteristics and oral health awareness. Conclusions: This study provides useful data for mental health and oral health care, and for the development of health care service programs aimed at the satisfaction and happiness of people living alone.

의치장착자의 의치사용만족 및 행태가 행복감에 미치는 영향

Objectives : The purpose of the study was to provide basic data for the improvement of their happiness through the use of effective denture-related services and restoration of healthy oral function. Methods : The subjects of the study were 452 denture wearers using the elderly welfare facilities in Seoul. Results : The main variables influencing the happiness of the denture wearers were living with the family, subjective health, oral health status, duration of denture use, and regular oral examinations. Living with one’s family had the greatest influence on the happiness of the denture wearers. Conclusions : This study discusses the effect of satisfaction and behavior factors on effective denture use with reference to the happiness of denture wearers. This information will help improve denture management programs.

Genome-wide analysis of brassinosteroid responsive small RNAs in Arabidopsis thaliana

Background Brassinosteroids (BRs) are a class of phytohormones with important roles in regulating physiological and developmental processes. Small RNAs, including small interfering RNAs and microRNAs (miRNAs), are non-protein coding RNAs that regulate gene expression at the transcriptional and post-transcriptional levels. However, the roles of small RNAs in BR response have not been studied well. Objective In this study, we aimed to identify BR-responsive small RNA clusters and miRNAs in Arabidopsis. In addition, the effect of BR-responsive small RNAs on their transcripts and target genes were examined. Methods Small RNA libraries were constructed from control and epibrassinolide-treated seedlings expressing wild-type BRI1-Flag protein under its native promoter in the bri1-5 mutant. After sequencing the small RNA libraries, differentially expressed small RNA clusters were identified by examining the expression levels of small RNAs in 100-nt bins of the Arabidopsis genome. To identify the BR-responsive miRNAs, the expression levels of all the annotated mature miRNAs, registered in miRBase, were analyzed. Previously published RNA-seq data were utilized to monitor the BR-responsive expression patterns of differentially expressed small RNA clusters and miRNA target genes. Results In results, 38 BR-responsive small RNA clusters, including 30 down-regulated and eight up-regulated clusters, were identified. These differentially expressed small RNA clusters were from miRNA loci, transposons, protein-coding genes, pseudogenes and others. Of these, a transgene, BRI1, accumulates small RNAs, which are not found in the wild type. Small RNAs in this transgene are up-regulated by BRs while BRI1 mRNA is down-regulated by BRs. By analyzing the expression patterns of mature miRNAs, we have identified BR-repressed miR398a-5p and BR-induced miR156g. Although miR398a5p is down-regulated by BRs, its predicted targets were not responsive to BRs. However, SPL3, a target of BR-inducible miR156g, is down-regulated by BRs. Conclusion BR-responsive small RNAs and miRNAs identified in this study will provide an insight into the role of small RNAs in BR responses in plants. Especially, we suggest that miR156g/SPL3 module might play a role in BR-mediated growth and development in Arabidopsis.

Interpretation is “the oldest job of human beings.” However, the interpretation studies have been relatively a few compared to translation studies. And the study on interpreters is also very limited in comparison to that on translators. On the other hand, todayinterpreters are acknowledged as one of “the best job” for women. Nevertheless, there were the times when female interpreters were regarded as a spy, a potential betrayer of secrets, and a traitor against the nation. Accordingly, this research focused on the role and identity of female interpreters in the colonies. More specifically, La Malinche, the interpreter during the conquest of Aztec Empire in 1500s and Bae Jeong-ja, who worked as an interpreter during the early colonization of Chosun Dynasty by Japan in 1900s, were reassessed from the historiographic point of view.

안와에 생긴 에크린한선낭종 1예

Purpose: To report the first domestic case of orbital eccrine hidrocystoma. Case summary: A 40-year-old man visited our clinic after an orbital mass was discovered in the left eye. Orbital magnetic resonance imaging showed a well-defined 1 cm mass on the superomedial side of the orbit, slightly posterior to the globe. The mass was excised completely without rupture through an incision to the upper eyelid skin. The mass appeared more like a cyst than a hemangioma. The diagnosis of eccrine hidrocystoma was confirmed histopathologically. The patient recovered and there was no recurrence at the 6-month follow-up. Conclusions: Although orbital eccrine hidrocystoma is very rare, it should be included in the differential diagnosis of orbital tumors. 목적: 안와에 생긴 에크린한선낭종을 국내 최초로 보고하고자 한다. 증례요약: 40세 남자 환자가 건강검진에서 우연히 발견된 좌측 안와 내의 종괴로 내원하였다. 안와 자기공명영상검사에서 경계가 분명한 직경 약 1 cm 크기의 종괴가 좌측 안구의 약간 후방에서 안와의 내상방에 위치하고 있었다. 위눈꺼풀 피부 절개를 통한 종양제거술을 시행하였고, 피막 파열 없이 완전 적출하였다. 수술 당시 종괴는 혈관종의 양상이 아닌 낭종의 형태를 보였으며, 병리조직검사에서 에크린한선낭종으로 진단되었다. 환자는 잘 치유되었으며, 술 후 6개월 까지의 경과 관찰 동안 재발 소견은 없었다. 결론: 안와의 에크린한선낭종은 매우 드물지만, 안와에 생길 수 있는 종양의 하나로서 감별되어야 할 것으로 여겨진다.

문학 교육과 정서적 체험 : 시적 체험을 중심으로

The nature of emotional experiences makes it very difficult to evaluation of reading students’ emotional responses. Until now, our literature education has known the importance of reading students’ emotional experiences, but not focused on the practical way to study. Therefore we need to study of ‘what is emotional experiences, and how students good at expressing their emotions’. On this paper, I has studied of their processes and categories on cognitive psychology. But this is not perfect, so I think we need more studies about emotional experiences and poetry experiences. I hope this paper will help to encourage us to include emotional experiences as part of literature education. 정서적 체험의 본질적 특성 때문에 시 교육은 정서적 영역에서의 학습독자의 반응에 대한 평가에서 늘 어려움을 겪고 있다. 문학 교육에서 정서적 체험의 중요성은 개념적으로는 존재해 왔지만, 세부적인 내용이나 방법, 평가 등이 아직까지 구체화되지 못하였다. 따라서 정서적 체험이란 무엇이며, 어떤 과정을 통해서 이루어지는지, 그 영역이나 범주를 어떻게 설정할 것인가를 밝혀내는 학문적 연구가 시급하다. 본고에서는 기존의 연구 결과에 따라 인지심리학의 관점에서 그 영역에 관하여 논의해 보았다. 본고에서 제시한 시적 체험의 영역은 완전하지 않으며, 문학 체험, 시적체험, 정서적 체험 등은 앞으로도 심리학, 해석학 등과 연계하여 지속적인 연구가 필요하다.
