AC PDP에서 다양한 형태의 ∏형 금속방전유지 전극의 효과

Recently, an AC Plasma Display Panels(PDP) with the metal sustain electrodes have been reported in order to reduce the manufacturing cost of the AC PDP. However, the luminance and efficacy of the AC PDP with metal electrodes are worse than those of the AC PDP with ITO electrodes. In this paper, various n type metal electrodes are suggested, in order to improve the electro-optical characteristics of the AC PDP with metal electrodes. Among the suggested electrode types, luminance of Hump electrode structure is higher by 40 ㏅/㎡ and discharge current of Asymmetry electrode structure is lower by 5% than those of Pi electrode structure, respectively. Moreover, T₁ of Hump electrode structure is reduced to 10% as compared with Pi electrode structure in address period for ADS driving scheme. In all aspects, the characteristics of Hump and Asymmetry electrode structure show best performance.

The gas mixture ratio of PDP discharges plays a very important role in the discharge characteristics of a plasma display panel. The increase of Xe contents results in the increases of luminance and luminous efficiency while it also results in the increase of the breakdown voltage. The addition of He gas increases the brightness and the luminous efficiency. Especially, the luminance and the luminous efficiency have a maximum value when the partial pressure of He is about 10% of the total pressure for a standard plasma display panel with Xe fraction of 10~30%.

In photovoltaic(PV) generator systems, DC-DC converters are significantly considered for control system performance in power quality point of view. This paper presents a novel adaptive control method for DC-DC converters applied in PV generator systems. First, we derive a state-space average model of the converter system and then propose a reset control methodology to enhance transient response performance for time-varying PV systems. For estimating parameters of a reset control, a gradient descent optimization is utilized and an adjustment rule of them are derived respectively. An objective of the optimization is that characteristic equation of an augmented system model which is formed with an converter system model and an reset control is to trace a predefined polynomial given as a reference characteristic model. Next, we accomplish stability analysis by means of a well-known Lyapunov theory for nonlinear converter systems including time-varying voltage excitation from a PV generator. Numerical simulation demonstrates reliability of our control methodology and its superiority by comparison to a traditional control strategy.

Nowadays, itis inevitable trend to use high Xe gas contents for increase luminous efficiency and luminance in plasma display panel. However, the increase of Xe gas contents causes the driving voltage, although the brightness is increase. In this paper, we study the characteristics of electro optical according to Xe gas contents and gas pressure. Electro-optical characteristics were investigated by the discharge voltage, luminance and luminous efficacy measurements, respectively. With some increasing Xe gas contents and pressure, the electro-optical properties increased. However, the characteristics of electro-optical begin to be saturated, when too high increased Xe gas contents and pressure.

Cathode ray tube(CRT)를 대체 할 수 있는 차세대 display 중 plasma display panels(PDPs)가 각광받고 있지만, 여전히 효율 개선은 중요한 과제이다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 PDP driving 중 발광영역에 sine wave를 접목시켜 수치해석하였다. 수치 해석은 2차원 fluid-code simulater를 사용하였고, 여러가지 sine wave형태와 세폭 pulse를 조합하여, 30%이상의 효율 향상을 얻을 수 있었다.
