Vol.8 No.-

The purpose of this study is to examine the themes reflected in the poetry of ?? ?? P'il 石洲 권필 (1569∼1612). He wrote many gems of poetry during the years of hard times such as both the Imjin Woeran 壬辰 倭亂 or Hiteyoshi's invasion of korea and other difficult times of political turmoil characterized as Tangjaeng 黨爭 or factional disputes. The present author has dealt with ?? poetry which have the phases of the age of the shiftness of his subconsciousness as its subjects. That is to say, he was particularly interested both in Taoistic self-indulgence when he was young and in Confucian gooness when he was old respectively. His Taoistic self-indulgence was to iron out the frustration that he had experienced as he had faced with the reality. Although he had affection toward the reality, he tried to be quite aloof from the reality. In some poetry of that time he assumed an indifferent attitude and wrote carelessly. In addition to poring over works by Taoists, he was interested in voluminous book in military science at that time. It does not seem, therefore, that he throughly secluded from the world. Since the Taoistic self-indulgence didn't satisfy him conflict in reality, he began to indulge in the Confucian Tao 道. His attitude toward Confucian goodness was to go deeply into his subconsciousness from the reality in which he had been interested at his young age. It was natural, therefore, that he should focus on the matured self-recollection. Moreover, some poetry of that time showed that his works were related with lots of objects which had become transparent through selfrecollection. In order to examine his shiftness from Taoistic self-indulgence to Confucian goodness, it was necessary to survey the relationship between the ?? himself and the phases of the age. His two-fold aspects as a poet and scholar revealed his real characteristics reflected in his poetry, and deepened and widened his literal abilities.

Vol.3 No.-

Vol.16 No.-

This study was to observe the changes on blood pressure in hypotension patients(N10) before during and after Treadmill exercise. Treadmill exercise divided with three steps-warm up, main exercise and cool down. The intensity of main exercise was to 60%HRmax. Recovery time was observed until the 120min after treadmill exercise. The conclusion which were achieved as followings : First, Systolic Blood Pressure(SBP) and Diastolic Blood Pressure(DBP) significally decreased more than the rest Blood Pressure(BP) at warm up stage. the warm up consists of three minutes walking with 2.0mph intensity. The SBP and DBP more significally increased than the resting blood pressure at HRmax 40~60% after three minutes. Second, SBP and DBP were significally more increased than rest BP at HRmax 40~60%. but increase trend was difficult - SBP was more increased than 120mmHg and the point of DBP increase was started from 70mmHg sublevel which lower than normal level. Third, At cool down stage, SBP and DBP were significally more increased than rest BP during the exercise at HRmax 40~60%. That is, SBP was more decreased than blood pressure of exercise stage but was maintained 120mmHg degree levels and DBP was more increased than blood pressure of exercise stage and was maintained 80mmHg degree levels. Forth, at the recovery stage, BP was maintained states which were significally higher than the rest BP for thirty minutes. After thirty minutes the rest BP was recovered with the original hypertension condition.

Vol.8 No.-

The purpose of this study is to verify on the basis of the Dong-Hak thoughts the Utopianism that can be found in 'Yong-Dam-Yu-Sa', one of the Dong-Hak Bible and a versicular literary work. This utopianism is closely connected with the creation of the world ("Gae-Byuk") which is one of the main ideas of Dong-Hak. To this effect, this paper presents the background for the origination of Dong-Hak and the general concept of the utopian thought. It further describes the problem of the earthly Taoistic hermit(Shin Sun") which is considered the most important element in creating an earthly Utopia/Paradise. The aforestated earthly Taoistic hermit is the man gifted with divine spirit and virtue and is the most idealistic type of man who is sought after in Dong-Hak. This Utopia or Paradise which is a community of the earthly Taoistic hermits is symbolically described as 'Spring' in 'Yong-Dam-Yu-Sa'. The literary background for this symbolic description can be found in the fact that the season of 'Spring' is characterized by its universal symbol and that its cycling feature conicides with Soo-Woon's view of history. Also, the term 'Spring' is adopted as a symbolic vehicle which symbolizes the sanctification of all the earthly Taoistic hermits into the boundary of divine spirits. The Utopianism of Dong-Hak is distinguished for its realistic feature from other utopian thoughts. It does not search for the Utopia of Measures which can be obtained through innovation of the social and conventional systems, but the Utopia of Man that can be estabished through reformation of human nature. The Millinnium Movement of the West is based on the concept that the earthly Utopia/ Paradise is established with the appearance of the Messiah. On the other hand, the Utopianism of Dong-Hak is founded on the modern thoughts such as total equality and participation that the reformation of nature is required for all human beings to establish the Utopian society.

Vol.12 No.-

This study is about an influence the western pastoral dements in Korean pastoral poetry. Korean pastoral poetry, founded on the tradition of the pastoral poetry of the Yi Dynasty, was influenced by some of the western elements. The foreign elements accepted and transformed in the traditional flow of native pastoral poetry are as follows. 1. Acceptance of Childhood as an idea The core of the poetry of the Yi Dynasty based on Confucianism lay in the full adult age, not in childhood. Almost no poems of the Yi Dynasty treated the emotions of childhood. Since the modernization of Korea, however, "childhood" has frequently been sung of in Korean pastoral poetry as one of the important ideas. This reflects Western influence since childhood is also regarded as one of the representative ideas in Western pastoral poetry. 2. Transfiguration of "Arcadia" "Arcadia", the typical place of retirement in Western pastoral poems is transfigured in to "Remote Land" or "Namchon" in Korean pastoral poetry. While "Dowhawon" of Doynmyung represented fantasy beyond actual reality, "Arcadia", "Remote Land" or "Namchon" represent realistic ideas directly related to human life. 3. Transfiguration of the shepherd The shepherds, "Corin" or "Michael" of Western pastoral are transfigured into different figures in Korean pastoral poetry. The peculiar fact that "sheep" and "shepherd", not "cow" frequently appear in Korean pastoral poetry where agriculture forms the basic pattern of life also indicates Western influence on Korean pastoral poetry. 4. Images The pastoral poetry of Yi Dynasty mostly concerned ideas and rarely used images. In Korean pastoral poetry, however, we can often find emotional expressions using images, those images savoring strongly of Western tastes.
