      • Power Decoupling Method for Single Phase Differential Buck Converter

        Wenli Yao,Yi Tang,Xiaobin Zhang,Xiongfei Wang,Poh Chiang Loh,Frede Blaabjerg 전력전자학회 2015 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2015 No.6

The well-known inherent second-order ripple power in single phase converters imposes harmonic stress on the dc link, resulting in low efficiency and overheating issues. In order to avoid installing bulky electrolytic capacitors or LC filters in the dc-link, this paper presents a differential buck inverter to improve the dc link power quality, and an improved active power decoupling method is proposed to achieve ripple power reduction for both AC-DC and DC-AC conversions. The ripple energy storage is realized by the filter capacitors, which are connected between the output terminal and the negative dc bus. By properly controlling the differential mode voltage of the capacitors, it is possible to transfer desired energy between the DC port and AC port. The common mode voltage is controlled in such a way that the ripple power on the dc side will be reduced. Furthermore, an autonomous reference generation technique is proposed to provide accurate ripple power compensation, and closed-loop controllers are also designed based on small signal models. The effectiveness of this power decoupling method is verified by detailed simulation studies as well as laboratory prototype experimental results.

Coffee grounds derived sulfur and nitrogen dual-doped porous carbon for the cathode material of lithium‑sulfur batteries

        Wen Yating,Wang Xiaobin,Huang Jingyi,Li Yu,Li Tao,Ren Baozeng 한국탄소학회 2023 Carbon Letters Vol.33 No.4

The development of functional carbon materials using waste biomass as raw materials is one of the research hotspots of lithium-sulfur batteries in recent years. In this work, used a natural high-quality carbon source—coffee grounds, which contain more than 58% carbon and less than 1% ash. Honeycomb-like S and N dual-doped graded porous carbon (SNHPC) was successfully prepared by hydrothermal carbonization and chemical activation, and the amount of thiourea used in the activation process was investigated. The prepared SNHPC showed excellent electrochemical energy storage characteristics. For example, SNHPC-2 has a large pore volume (1.85 cm3·g−1), a high mesoporous ratio (36.76%), and a synergistic effect (S, N interaction). As the cathode material of lithium-sulfur batteries, SNHPC-2/S (sulfur content is 71.61%) has the highest specific capacity. Its initial discharge-specific capacity at 0.2 C is 1106.7 mAh·g−1, and its discharge-specific capacity after 200 cycles is still as high as 636.5 mAh·g−1.

      • An Embedded Software Power Consumption Model based on Software Architecture and Support Vector Machine Regression

        Xiong Wei,Xiaobin Liu,Bing Guo,Shen Yan,Wenli Zhang 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Smart Home Vol.10 No.3

As embedded devices prevail in daily life, high energy consumption caused by embedded software caught academic attentions. Multifarious testing and predicting methods are developed accordingly. This paper proposes a model about energy consumption of embedded device based on analysis of embedded software structure and support vector machine regression. The nonlinear relationship between energy consumption and software structure is revealed. The research finds software structure is determined by features like number of components, complexity of component interface, component coupling, and path length. These features are qualified and modeled by using support vector machine regression and energy consumption is predicted based on this model. The experiments results confirm the proposed model.

The Effects of Physicochemical Factors and Cell Density on Nitrite Transformation in a Lipid-Rich Chlorella

( Fang Liang ),( Kui Du ),( Xiaobin Wen ),( Liming Luo ),( Yahong Geng ),( Yeguang Li ) 한국미생물 · 생명공학회 2015 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.25 No.12

To understand the effects of physicochemical factors on nitrite transformation by microalgae, a lipid-rich Chlorella with high nitrite tolerance was cultured with 8 mmol/l sodium nitrite as sole nitrogen source under different conditions. The results showed that nitrite transformation was mainly dependent on the metabolic activities of algal cells rather than oxidation of nitrite by dissolved oxygen. Light intensity, temperature, pH, NaHCO3 concentrations, and initial cell densities had significant effects on the rate of nitrite transformation. Single-factor experiments revealed that the optimum conditions for nitrite transformation were light intensity: 300 μmol/㎡/s; temperature: 30℃; pH: 7-8; NaHCO3 concentration: 2.0 g/l; and initial cell density: 0.15 g/l; and the highest nitrite transformation rate of 1.36 mmol/l/d was achieved. There was a positive correlation between nitrite transformation rate and the growth of Chlorella. The relationship between nitrite transformation rate (mg/l/d) and biomass productivity (g/l/d) could be described by the regression equation y = 61.3x (R(2) = 0.9665), meaning that 61.3 mg N element was assimilated by 1.0 g dry biomass on average, which indicated that the nitrite transformation is a process of consuming nitrite as nitrogen source by Chlorella. The results demonstrated that the Chlorella suspension was able to assimilate nitrite efficiently, which implied the feasibility of using flue gas for mass production of Chlorella without preliminary removal of NOX.
