Improvement of Anti-wrinkle Properties of Cotton Fabrics Treated with Additives of Neutral Salts

        Huifang Xiao,Kelu Yan,Bolin Ji 한국섬유공학회 2018 Fibers and polymers Vol.19 No.7

By employing 1,2,3,4-butanetetracarboxylic acid (BTCA) as the finishing agent, SHP as the catalyst and neutral salts NaCl and Na2SO4 as the additives, anti-wrinkle finish of cotton fabrics was carried out here. According to the Donnan equilibrium model and the actions of neutral salts in dyeing process of cellulosic fabrics, NaCl and Na2SO4 should both promote the adsorption of BTCA anions onto the surface of fibers and diffusion into the interior of fibers. Consequently, BTCA would crosslink the interior molecular chains of cellulose, improving the anti-wrinkle properties of treated fabrics. In fact, experimental results confirmed the hypothesis that the two additives of neutral salts indeed both improved wrinkle recovery angle (WRA) of the treated fabrics and the optimal molar ratio of NaCl or Na2SO4 to BTCA was 0.2:1 or 0.3:1, respectively. The neutral salts reduced the dosage of BTCA without decreasing WRA, reducing the manufacturing cost. Besides, the fabrics treated with neutral salts presented good durability. Furthermore, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Xray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy analyses revealed that neutral salts could catalyze the formation of BTCA anhydride by decreasing hydrogen-bond interactions between BTCA molecules.

      • Automatic cystocele severity grading in transperineal ultrasound by random forest regression

        Ni, Dong,Ji, Xing,Wu, Min,Wang, Wenlei,Deng, Xiaoshuang,Hu, Zhongyi,Wang, Tianfu,Shen, Dinggang,Cheng, Jie-Zhi,Wang, Huifang Elsevier 2017 Pattern recognition Vol.63 No.-

Abstract

Cystocele is a woman disease that bladder herniates into vagina. Women with cystocele may have problem in urinating and higher risk of bladder infection. The treatment of cystocele highly depends on the severity. The cystocele severity is usually evaluated with the manual transperineal ultrasound measurement for the maximal distance between the bladder and the lower tip of symphysis pubis in the Valsalva maneuver. To improve the efficiency of the measurement, we propose a fully automatic scheme that can measure the distance between the two anatomic structures in each ultrasound image. The whole measurement scheme is realized with a two-phase random forest regression to infer the locations of the two structures in the images for the support of distance measurement. The experimental results suggest automatic distance measurements and the final grading by our random forest regression method are comparable to the measurements and grading scores from three medical doctors, and thus corroborate the efficacy of our method.

Highlights

First automatically computerized cystocele grading method on the transperineal ultrasound is developed in this study.

The automatic cystocele grading on the transperineal ultrasound is realized with a two-phase random forest regression model.

Auto-context features are helpful for our regression model to improve the cystocele grading results.

A novel ID-based multi-domain handover protocol for mesh points in WMNs

( Xue Zhang ),( Guangsong Li ),( Wenbao Han ),( Huifang Ji ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2015 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.9 No.7

Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) provide an efficient and flexible method to the field of wireless networking, but also bring many security issues. A mesh point may lose all of its available links during its movement. Thus, the mesh point needs to handover to a new mesh point in order to obtain access to the network again. For multi-domain WMNs, we proposed a new ID-based signcryption scheme and accordingly present a novel ID-based handover protocol for mesh points. The mutual authentication and key establishment of two mesh points which belong to different trust domains can be achieved by using a single one-round message exchange during the authentication phase. The authentication server is not involved in our handover authentication protocol so that mutual authentication can be completed directly by the mesh points. Meanwhile, the data transmitted between the two mesh points can be carried by the authentication messages. Moreover, there are no restrictions on the PKG system parameters in our proposed multi-domain ID-based signcryption scheme so our handover scheme can be easily applied to real WMNs circumstances. Security of the signcryption scheme is proved in the random oracle model. It shows that our protocol satisfies the basic security requirements and is resistant to existing attacks based on the security of the signcryption. The analysis of the performance demonstrates that the protocol is efficient and suitable for the multi-domain WMNs environment.
